!!!Break through in Indo-China diplomacy ! New route to Kailash Mansarovar.
Narendra Modi diplomatic over drive ahead of his visit to China in MAY this year. !!!
First time India China formalised modalities. New Route through Nathu La Pass ,Sikim.
This comes in the backdrop of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj meetings with Chinese leadership.
Route was agreed upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of india and President Xi Jinping of China.
Source : Headlines Today .
Why it is a very important break through ??? !!! Let me try to explain briefly.
It has been understood that our PM pushed for new safe route for Indian pilgrims visiting Kailash and Mansarovar in Tibet via Sikkim . Tibet is under occupation of chinese army for decades now. It was considered very sensitive for India and Hindus of India to talk or make connection with Tibetiens .But new government at the center have made this clear to Communist Party of China that it's very important for India and our large population of Hindus.
During September visit Oh f Chinese premier XI officials said the proposal was under serious consideration.
Expectations were high that the route through Nathu La border point in Sikkim would be part of the big gesture of friendship not only to strike chord with Modi but also the people at large, specially the Hindus and Buddhists considering its religious importance.
Modi wanted the second route for the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra, keeping in view the terrain difficulties of the existing routes through Uttarakhand and Nepal which involved arduous journey involving heavy tracking or by mules.
The Yatra involves trekking at high altitudes of up to 19,500 feet.
The Yatra being organized by external affairs ministry goes through Lipu Pass, Himalayan pass connecting the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand in India with the old trading town of Taklakot in Tibet. The route was badly damaged in recent floods in Uttarakhand.
The ministry take over 1,000 pilgrims a year in 18 batches involving a 22 day journey.
This will be a great gesture of goodwill and new hope for long lasting friendship between two oldest civilisations of Indians and Tibetiens.
China and India the two world's largest population are ready to break the ice and move on into the future of prosperity.
Well !!! HOPEFULLY
