I think there is a lack of education among Pakistanis about the events, which brought religious confrontation in the subcontinent. Use of Jehad for political gains and brainwashing of young mind through religion to provoke them and use their sentiments for terror activities.

I would like to share some events!

during 18th century, there was one scholar named Walli Ullah Shah a Hardcore jehadi and follower of Ibn Tehmmiya , who was told by britishers that Marathas and Jats are rising, which is a severe threat to Muslims and Islamic theology. So Walli Ullah Shah wrote a covert letter to Ahmad Shah , that , come and attack India. In 1759-61 was the crucial year of Indian history. The third battle of panipat, which weakened the Maratahas and the Mughals along with Durrani. This gave clear way to Britishers to penetrate into India.

The point I am making that, the term jehad and Walli Ullah Shah's extremism, were used by britishers in their strategic response.

Deobandis highly religious, but pro Indians, against the theology of Ibn Tehmiya, hijacked by deoband wanabes in Karachi and Peshawar, creating a new ideology of Deoband Madrassa following Wahabism. The recent attackers in Pakistan, had their leader of deoband Ideology.

The territorial changes in british empire are seen.

How an extremist nature of using Islam can be self destructive. Ibn Tehmmiya and Wahab , who used it, to counter Mongols to prevent Arab culture, Not Islam, but gradually declined. TTP, HUJI, JEM, all are part of this, not for Islam but for political gains.

Unless until Pakistan does not clarify to it's citizens, why Pakistan came to existence, a product of british conspiracy in Aligarh Muslim university, founded by Sir Syed Ahmed to counter Hindu Banaras university, people will be confused and they will follow path of terrorism and hate in the name of Religion.

Pakistan needs to understand that Brainwashing the youth by these Madrassas need to be taken care of.

For proofs, evidences, etc etc all that kindly go throug, Ibn tehmiya, al Wahab, Shah Walliullah, Third Battle of Panipat and Deoband madrassa(Darul Uloom Deoband).

very very confusing.

Still missing a lot of key details.

This is why the observations in the beginning of post have no link to the conclusions brought up in the end of post.

That's why I tagged the top most people here to find out the conclusion.

I am so tired of hearing people bad mouthing personalities who were in my eyes essentially good people...Ibn Taymiyah, Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab and Shah Walliullah etc. They made decisions in their own times that were good. But the Western world in order to try and explain away the evils of their own practices picked up a few names out of the pages of our history and then concocted some simplistic explanations for why the shit hit the fan in our parts of the world. Brother you might have only heard of these people recently and through the lens of current events but I have been reading about them since I could read and I have only ever considered them to be guiding stars in the constellations of personalities of our past and I have never linked them or tried to link them to the present. Such doings are futile since our reality is not the reality they had, nor were their decisions meant for us.

While I appreciate the effort in the abstract, we may not get everybody's undivided attention at this point of time. I, for one, am too disturbed to write on this. Suffice it to say that the matter is extremely complex, and if I had been planning an intervention, I would drawn attention to the creation of an Indian Muslim identity by the British, in the first instance through the Hunter Commission report.

By all means, if you have the heart to do so (I don't, I am distraught and not in the mood for an intellectual discourse), present your point of view. If you do so at all, do it calmly, else you are perfectly entitled to refrain and plead a headache. That is precisely what I am doing.

It is what truth is and widely accepted, if your Mullas are teaching something different, then it is matter of concern.

bhai jaan

it is "widely accepted" in Indian circles. I agree.

But it ain't "The Truth".

not even "The Half Truth".

Reason?

Very shallow (read 5th grade history book level) analysis.

Good people can make bad (nay terrible) decisions too.
