The unbeatable cruise missile, which has guarded India's frontline strategic positions with the Army and Navy for many years, now, promises to galvanize the IAF's firepower potential and bring in a paradigm shift in its air warfare capabilities.

BRAHMOS-A, a first-of-its-kind weapon in the world to power a long-range supersonic strike fighter, is successfully advancing in its test trial programme and promises to weaponise India's frontline Su-30MKI fighter in the near future. Weighing 2.5 ton, BRAHMOS is the heaviest weapon system to arm the Su-30MKI fighter. With its supersonic speed, large warhead and high precision, the missile deployed by the long-range, super-manoeuvrable Sukhoi-30 fighter will rain fire and fury from the sky, to devastate vital enemy positions in the sea or on ground.

Brahmi's air launched version is 2.5 to her and no MKI or any Indian jet can lift such weight on a single hard point.
To carry such a heavy load Su-30 had to be modified and additional frames added for stiffening of fuselage, so that Su-30 can lift one 2.5 to her at central hardpoint
Such modification for a single missile is permanent and makes the Su-30 Permanently heavier due to added weight of stiffeners. Changing everything from range, fuel consumption and handling characteristics.
IAF planned 42 Su-30 to be permanently modified for Brahmos, but so far only one had been modified and handed over for trial runs. There is another 41 to go.
So far that Single SU-30 has only performed drop tests and hasn't fired Brahmos yet.
When and if that single modified SU-30 MKI will successfully fire Brahmos, it will be finally proven that the missile can actually work for IAF.
After that it may take years to complete the modifications for other Su-30.
But then again India is the master of premature celebrating, boasting and claims.

Has it occured to you that Sukhoi can engage target deep inside enemy territory with Brahmos, without intruding into enemy airspace? Or can have escort air superiority fighters?

There are 388 Deployed Brahmos in total.
216 are on Pakistani border , 72 on Chinese . The rest 100 with Indian navy.
None with IAF.
