The BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile system has attracted many high-level delegates, including from the Middle East region, during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2011 at Abu dhabi.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, visited the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion at the IDEX on Wednesday.
He was briefed about the supersonic cruise missile system and its various capabilities by company CEO and MD Dr. A S Pillai.
BrahMos Aerospace is participating in the 10th edition of the International Defence Exhibition 2011.
The BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile system has a range of up to 290 km with a maximum speed of 2.8 Mach. The missile can be launched from multiple platforms including land, sea, sub-sea and air.
While the Indian Army and Navy have already inducted the missile system in their arsenal, the Indian Air Force is getting ready to equip its SU-30MKI fighters with the powerful missiles in near future.
