He unscrupulously took UK into a disastrous brexit for his own personal ambition to oust Cameron and become PM. And now shows himself to be a cretin and a coward by running away from the mess he created.

Though I was against Brexit, I respected Boris for his show of power. I thought at least a man like him can see us through troubled times. With this idiotic move, he's shown that he didn't know what he was doing all along.

I think the reason he backed out is the sheer amount of abuse coming towards him from the remain camp. People are angry at him for dividing the nation and he had to face furious public reaction after the result of Brexit was announced.

I think he may have thought that history might remember him as a villain who took britain out in his quest to become the Prime Minister... and if he failed to deliver... it will be really tarnishing moment on his hero like reputation in London.
