The Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram have released a new video, featuring their radical leader, AbuBakar Shekau, ranting on about Islam.

Shekau, also known by the nom de guerre Darul tawheed, is seen standing in front of several cars and is flanked by six masked militants.

Like his fellow fighters, Shekau is wearing military camouflage fatigues and a head scarf but his face is clearly visible.

The video is just over a minute and a half in length, and shows Abubakar Shekau lambasting "disbelievers". The video is otherwise short on explanation.

A list of groups, from salafis to shias, are dismissed in as "disbelievers." Democracy is also rejected by the Nigerian leader, who is thought to be hiding in the Sambiza forest in the northern part of the country.

Shekau appears to be extremely upset. The video shows him waving his hands about and pointing threateningly at the camera. He denounces Saudi Arabia as "not Islamic" commenting that they are not followers of the propher Muhammad, and will "enter the Hellfire".

The Boko Haram leader goes on to vow that his group will perform Hajj and visit the Ka'aba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He continues to praise Islam, insisting he and his fighters are people of the holy book.

Towards the end of the video, he starts shouting: "We will kill! We will hold slaves!" On the subject of slaves he adds: "we will sell".
Shekau ends the cameo by chanting his own name, and then firing some rounds from his AK 47 rifle into the air.

Shekau is known for his theatrical videos appearances, which have featured him firing off anti-aircraft weapons and pointing his machete at the camera.
