The body of an Afghan so desperate to escape the country hours after Kabul fell to the Taliban was found in the landing gear of an American C-17 transport aircraft hours after it hastily took off from Hamid Karzai International Airport, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
The body in the aircraft’s landing gear has made it temporarily inoperable, the sources said.
The news is the latest disturbing development after chaos erupted at Kabul’s international airport over the weekend following the Taliban’s stunning takeover of Afghanistan’s capital city. Terrifying videos showing Afghans clinging to planes, including the military’s massive C-17 cargo jets, as they attempted to take off dominated news segments across the world Monday. Some videos showed Afghans falling from mid-air from a plane leaving the airport.

A Pentagon spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Washington Post first reported the news.
The Defense Department temporarily froze military and civilian flights in an attempt to clear the tarmac of the desperate civilians rushing the airfield, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby told reporters Monday.
While Kirby could not confirm that an investigation was underway into civilian deaths related to C-17 flights leaving the airport, he told reporters Monday that he expected the department would look into the incident.
The Pentagon has so far deployed some 5,000 additional troops to Kabul to help secure the airport so thousands of American citizens, embassy staffers and vulnerable Afghans can safely leave the country. Officials expected that by Monday, the U.S. would have 3,000 troops on the ground at the airport; the rest would fly in over the coming days.
The U.S. resumed operations out of the airport late Monday, allowing C-17s carrying Marines and soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division to land in the country, according to Maj. Gen. Hank Taylor, the Joint Staff’s deputy director for regional operations and force management.
Earlier in the day, U.S. forces responded to “hostile threats” after gunfire broke out in two separate incidents, resulting in the deaths of two gunmen, Kirby confirmed. One U.S. service member was injured during the incident, he said, but could not confirm the individual’s status late Monday.
Meanwhile, more than 600 Afghans crowded onto another C-17 — a number thought to be among the most ever flown in the military’s massive cargo jet, Defense One reported.

. . . .
That is a dog on the plane .
True western values
these slaves are lesser than dogs for "Champion of humanity"

The C-17 is there to evacuate US forces, of which the dog is a part of. Any Afghans wanting to leave by just walking into or clinging to a C-17 will have issues doing so, and rightfully. The problem here is airport perimeter security, and nothing more than that.

My post was factually correct. Nobody is gassing anyone here. The US forces are leaving, just as they announced. Just because airport security is failing is no reason to get overly emotional.

This is passenger aircraft.

The aircraft towards which men were running is an American military Globemaster. It was filled with people already.

This was unfortunate incident and should not have happened. However, it was due to Afghans being out of control in the airport. No sensible person would try to hang onto an aircraft from outside.

The pilot(s) could not put those people at risk who were inside the aircraft - they had to take-off.

American troops did not open fire on the people attempting to surround the aircraft for humanitarian reasons either. What else you expect from them?

Try this in airports of some countries and see what happens.

There is no way anyone can survive in such an area, virtually everyone who has tried has either fallen to their deaths or froze to death.
There is only one case which was 'successful'.

Their report said the stowaway was discovered in the space next to the aircraft landing gear and was taken to hospital suffering from severe hypothermia.

Notice I highlighted those words, that is literally why he survived as the area has a higher temperature at altitude than the landing gear. He still have severe hypothermia.

That..., sir is inacurate.

List of wheel-well stowaway flights

There was the infamous incident where there were 02 hiding on a Delhi-London flight that lasted 10-hours. One 1 of the two brothers survived & today works at Heathrow.

Chilling footage has emerged in recent days of Afghans clinging to the hull of an American C-17 transport plane – but now video seemingly taken by a man hanging onto one of the US aircraft has surfaced.
The shocking video spreading on social media shows the scene apparently from the opposite perspective, though it's not clear if the man is on the same plane as the ones seen in other videos.
The man who appears to be sitting atop the fairing of the C-17 military transport plane at Kabul airport films himself and the crowds of people watching in the area surrounding the aircraft.
The video shows at least eight men clinging to what appears to be a fairing of the US C-17 aircraft. They wave to the crowds standing on the edge of the tarmac as the plane gathers speed and apparently prepares for a takeoff.

At one point, the person filming even turned the camera around to his face for a selfie. It’s unclear whether the man fell off before takeoff and survived to tell the tale, or if the footage was retrieved by someone else.
Media reports on Monday said several people were killed in an attempt to hold on to a plane ferrying evacuees out of Afghan’s capital after the Taliban seized complete control on Sunday.

Other harrowing footage posted on social media appeared to show at least two people falling to their deaths as the plane gained altitude. It is unclear if the video shot by the man sitting on the fairing shows the same plane.
