Blind Dutch boy regains sight after operation in Saudi Arabia

An 8-year-old Dutch boy who has undergone more than 50 surgeries to see again has finally regained his eyesight after an operation in Saudi Arabia.

Dani has been blind since he was 2 years old due to an inherited disease that affected his retina. He underwent 51 surgeries in four European countries as well as the US but all of them had failed.

Dani’s father eventually gave up but a friend of his advised him to travel to Saudi Arabia and consult experts at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh.

They traveled to Riyadh and Dani underwent surgery and they later returned to the Netherlands.

During the first few days following the surgery, Dani’s parents did not notice any improvement. His father called the hospital in Riyadh but the doctor who treated Dani told him they need to wait.

Then one day, Dani’s father realized his son regained his eyesight when he saw him kicking a ball and following it around.

excellent news.....finally something good from Saudi arabia.

Finally?o_O:crazy: There is tons of good news every single day from KSA. You might not hear about it personally but that does not mean it is not there. It is just that the world (most of it at least) only highlights the negatives and make them appear much bigger than they really are.

Mashallah.

Great news indeed. The boy deserves it after so many failed operations. His parents must be overjoyed.

Don't forget to mention that the hospital is free.

Yes, just like the operations that KSA performs when it comes to siamese twins from across the world. In this field KSA is actually leading worldwide if I am not wrong. Anyway such stories are also good and KSA should continue to do such positive things regardless of whether it gets any intention or not because it is the right thing to do.

We are generous people by nature and historically and today where we have been blessed with a lot of things, it is our obligation to help the less fortunate. After all you cannot take your wealth with you to the grave. Many people seem to have forgotten this fact in this world.
