From the very reliable sources, it has been cleared that the Telecom regulatory authority and the Government of Pakistan are planning to verify the entire cellular customer base of 120 million with future biometric solution to align the records of cellular subscribers evermore. This system will not only be used to verify the new ones but also the existing subscribers who wish to continue taking the cellular services, will have to get their cellular numbers verified.

This has been made mandatory for all the cellular subscribers either existing or new ones in a particular period of time. All the un-verified cellular numbers will later be suspended and the subscriber will not be able to avail any services.

The plan is to wipe out all the bogus cellular numbers and unverified numbers from their record. This system, if applied, will at once bring to an end all the unverified cellular numbers along with all the details.

Noticeably it is going to be a very enormous task for the authorized department plus none of the cellular companies is in its favour. It doesn't require any mega investment or labour but if implemented, all companies will have to lose their thousands and millions of customers thus facing a tremendous economic loss.

The database is expected to be cross-checked with the thumbnail impression by NADRA to ensure that the user actually possesses CNIC card issued by NADRA.

According to news, Prime Minister of Pakistan has ordered the PTA to block nearly 4.5 million unregistered SIMs. However, it is blurred that how the figure of 4.5 million was traced and how the SIMs were actually found to have no registration.

Total Idiots! Why not tag bio matrix with CNIC, and use CNIC for every other purpose from home/cell phone, car registration/passport/ insurance/ medical / and what not. But first pass the law in the assembly for death penalty for anyone in possession of/ trying to acquire/ helping in acquiring a fake CNIC or one with wrong particulars.
