A Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane has crashed this evening on the runway at Yangon International Airport, aviation sources told The Myanmar Times.

The S2-AGQ - Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 was seen in pictures received by The Myanmar Times lying on the grass near the runway. Dhaka-headquartered Biman Bangladesh Airlines, known as Biman, is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh.

Posts on social media suggest that the aircraft skid off the runway. Both wings of the plane appear to be broken and fire fighters were at the site.

A source from the airport confirmed that the incident took place during landing. There are no fatalities so far. No information on the number of injuries was immediately available.

The Myanmar Times has contacted Yangon Aerodrome Company, the operator of Yangon International Airport, for further details.

The airport is currently closed.

You and I are mere mortals so we can't understand. But our Bengali friends here opened up 20 threads bashing pakistan over the head with their higher growth rate. They made it sound like Banglades is now perfect and Pakistan is nothing. So I'm just confused how high growth rate bangladesh can have a plane crashed.

they have a higher growth rate and they are woofing about it
leave it and move on :enjoy:

It's not even that.
Most Indians are gone from PDF and it gets a bit boring sometimes.

The bengalis are trying to take the Indians place but they just don't know how to troll correctly. They make silly comments and claims that can be easily refuted.

Maybe your right, bengalis are a poor substitute for Indians.

Okay, I declare retirement :D

@Avicenna we can be friends again

This particular aircraft was overhauleed in Hyderabad, India recently. In March of this year it had undergone a C check in India by GMR aerotech and faced major accident on it's delivery flight from there.
