temporary socio-economic and political privilege. I emphasized "temporary" because if revolutionary change comes to India either brought by external political or techno-economic means or internal change then Sharma will see the inside doors of the gulag, re-education instilled into him until he becomes humane and contributing.

Oh please, romanticized tears-rolling-down mythology aside India is probably the land that gave honor killing to the world and then in modern times parents force their children to get stupid high marks in India's stupid education system which serves only to push the children into India's stupid employment system where the person becomes a middle class wage slave for life, helpless in the face of political, social and socio-economic superiority of a very few.
About one month or so ago the father, grandparents and other male relatives of a girl in Bihar started attacking her one day in her house - the place where she was supposed to be safe ideally, smashing her against the wall again and again until she died and then they took her in an autorickshaw to a bridge over a river and wanted to dispose her by throwing her into the river but her dead body got caught upside down in the bridge railings. It was only the mother and sister of the girl who notified the police and they found her hanging upside down in the bridge. They arrested those criminal relatives and the autorickshaw driver who partook in the crime by agreeing to transfer the girl's body instead of being a responsible citizen and more so a humane person by notifying the police.
These parents of your Shrawan Kumar types are nothing outside the gate of their house and have given Shrawan not only nothing socio-economically ( like a business ) but also have given him the most extremely Capitalist, dog-eat-dog and irrational society in human history yet the parents of Shrawan Kumar expect him to actually worship them ? I want to throw Shrawan's parents into the sea. There are very few parents in India who support their children's talents or if the children are of ill health in some way. You have a very naive, romanticized, mythology-based idea of Indian culture. Please get rid of it.
Among the many forms of caste in India is money-based. Sharma temporarily has and the beggars don't. The beggars are beggars not because they dropped as such from the sky one night or that Nature decreed that they be oppressed and hardly-surviving beggars but because India's ridiculous, disparities-filled, Capitalist governance system which is not a welfare-based system does not give them the right to live with dignity and rights like the right to the same biryani and rasgulla you have and the right to have access to healthcare, education, clean water, basic food and other such things.
