Bharti Airtel now second largest telecom operator in Nigeria

NEW DELHI: Nigerian arm of Indian telecom major Bharti Airtel has become the second largest mobile services company in that country in terms of subscriber numbers on its network.

As per the fresh statistics released by Nigerian telecom regulator NCC, Airtel at the end of February took leader over Globacom with 21 per cent market share with 26,194,336 mobile subscribers. Nigeria mobile market is dominated by MTN which had 45 per cent share with 57,183,745 mobile subscribers.

"This is a remarkable feat for Airtel, demonstrating that our investments, aimed at ensuring a superior experience for our customers in Nigeria, are bearing fruit," Airtel Africa CEO Christian de Faria said in a statement. Since the launch in 2010, Airtel has invested over USD 1.7 billion dollars in its Nigerian telecom network.

I agree with you... Airtel plans sucks... 1gb 3g data is 252RS, whereas BSNL and Idea offers at 120rs.. once if you activate any plan through message... that plan will be renewed by default after expiry date... rubbish response from CC...

They are losing in many areas not just customer retention also over QOS promised to customers. .... Employees also under huge pressure to optimise the resources which is already below mangable level especially in India where market of voice services is saturated. .....

I work for bharti in Mumbai but takes no pride of being a part of bharti...... Appraisal time around the corner in bharti n the growth to be given to its employees would define thr real soundness of bharti group.....
