At first I was a little pissed why Altaf is opposed to military courts/ judgement when almost all opposition including govt. are on the same page.
Main reason as far as I have gathered was a mixture of judge incompetence and threats to them to which they were too scared.
But I do agree to this somewhat now.
Still I am willing to give NS time to carry out his plan of action in a speedy way and show results. If he cant deliver, i'm all in favor of marshal law as well. We have had enough with incompetent people.
- First judges need to be bold enough or leave this job to others with stronger hearts
- Second according to MQM, govt. is putting its job on military whose attention is already set in other areas. So if anything bad happens, military will face backlash.
Judges can't be bold. There are only two type of judges, either they are corrupt or they are scared to their bones. Tell me the truth, if you were a HC judge, and you had two options, either die at the hands of LeJ or take a bribe, what would you do? These terrorist outfits don't actually give you a choice. I have seen judges, IG's blown to smithereens by these lunatics, heck I even saw two high court judges being abducted in a single day from the same place, and they had A class security with them.
It's not easy to confront terrorism. Only the Armed Forces can do it, if they are given a free hand (albeit for a set timeframe) to deal-as-wish with Talibitches and other assorted varieties of Laskhar This, and Sipah That.
Moreover, don't forget, these people are amongst us, teachers, politicians, colonels, brigadiers, engineers, doctors etc etc who support the same mindset as that of Talibans and LeJ. They are the real problem / trouble-makers that needs to be dealt with in military courts. So when the time comes, 'aam awaam' needs to have patience and not get their panties in a twist. Example, if Shahbaz Sharif is booked for aiding LeJ et al by the proposed Military Courts in the coming days, we should have patience and let the law take its course. Wait for many skeletons that will be coming out of our near and dear ones closets.
Personally speaking, I wouldn't keep the job where I cant deliver results. But I see your point and feel like Army courts is the best way to go forward indeed.
