Anyone can post anyone who they think qualifies and should justify their choice. I'll go first:

MM Alam (PAF) - Shot down 5 planes in under a minute, holding a world record and becoming an ace in a day

Definitely Hans Ulrich Rudel. He also destroyed one battleship, one destroyer and one cruiser (talk about one man army). And he scored most of these kills without one leg and using the Ju87 Stuka, which was an excellent aircraft for it's intended role but was easily outclassed by mid to late war enemy aircraft and also wasn't the fastest aircraft either, but despite this Rudel was able to score the kills he did. Simply a Titan this man I tell you.

That's a thread for THE best fighter pilot. This one is for ones that are considered some of the best, but not necessarily THE best.

Ivan Kozhedub - best Soviet WW2 pilot and probably best Allied WW2 pilot. 62 enemy aircraft shot down.
