Best Congress Leader Ever And Why !!

I have been around with many peoples in this forum as well as other Internet forums where majority posters always seems to bash Indian National Congress and its leaders for different reasons,either for playing vote bank politics or practicing dirty secularism. But they aren't as bad as they seems to be or how we pretend them to be.They have been involved in our national struggle for freedom and has ruled India for the past 40 years after Independence.

So I am starting this thread to get the opinions of the Indian Posters about their choice of the best congressi leader ever so far.
This is my first thread on this forum so please spare it from trolling and different

MY VIEW-

Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel

Why?
He Was the creator of the Union Of India that we see and live today. He is also partly responsible for the Jammu and Kashmir as an Integral part of India that we have today. A great visionary with a brilliant understanding of the situation to act accordingly. Because of his efforts we today enjoys to be a part of Union of India and are so proud of it today.

Note-If anyone doesn't consider any of the congressi leader good or even best so far his/her views are also invited and also why he/she thinks so?

By the way, any documented proof for the event? Please do not give Pakistani text books or my uncle told me this and my great great grand-uncle saw that.

You have any idea what you're talking about? Just about all the historic licking that you guys keep crooning about including Kashmir, Junagarh and Hyderabad were 'one tight slap' given by Patel on various occasions. I can say Patel had more political ability than your quaid as evidenced by the superb political integration he achieved, while things keep simmering in your country even several decades after the fact of independence.

Mate Rahul Gandhi is still not a leader he is a congressi and that's all and i am taking about the best congressi leader who leads the country or played a role in progress,expansion,modernization,making the country strong in international relations,etc

But still Sardar Patel managed to merged most of states in INDIA who earlier wanted to merge with Pakistan

Patel is the single biggest reason why the Union of India stands as big as it does today.

Had Patel not been there, India would have been smaller with many kingdoms here and there.

So my order of list would be:
1. Patel
2. Nehru - Nehru is the reason India was so democratic with strong institutions.
3. Indira - Sole reason that she broke Pakistan in two, and we are enjoying dividends of that today and in future.
4. Rajiv - Future minded leader, started telecom revolution among other things.

Ofcourse all of them had their failures and fallacies as well...but one always has to take the good with the bad.

Sardar Patel ,Lal Bahadur Shastri, Subhash Chandra Bose, Narasimha Rao, Lokmanya Tilak are my favorites


Indira, Nehru, Manmohan and Gandhi although I don't have favourable view of these four but they have done atleast few great things for the nation to speak of despite their infinite flaws

Patel was more like an army commander leader than a people leader. I dont know how to rate the early leaders they were good in some ways and bad in other ways. Many of them were not reformists. I will name the Hndu rate of growth after some of these people.

9. Lal Bahadur Shastri

Unfortunately many Non Congress leaders get wiped out in this list ......Like the great Dr. B R Ambedkar.

I disagree ........Almost ALL CONGRESS leaders has recognized Rahul Gandhi as a Great Leader. They have called him one of the best.

It's a LONG list .....why are you trying to deny the congress credit for its recognition of such a great leader like Rahul Gandhi ?
