KOLKATA: In yet another incident of Bengal women’s involvement with terrorist outfits, a 25-year-old from Kolkata’s adjoining Hooghly district, was arrested by Bangladesh Police in Dhaka on Friday.

The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Bangladesh arrested Pragya Debnath, a 25-year-old woman who changed her name to Ayesha Jannat Mohona, on the charges of recruiting young people and raising funds on behalf of Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), an outlawed terror outfit in Bangladesh which has moles planted in West Bengal and other parts in India, said sourced in the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB), a central government’s intelligence wing.

Ayesha’s arrest came to light three months after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) tracked down college student Tania Parveen, a suspected Laskar-e-Taiba (LeT) member and agent of ISIS, in Basirhat, North 24-Parganas, in last March.

The SIB sources said they are yet to know Ayesha’s modus operandi in West Bengal and other parts of the country. "We are considering Ayesha a bigger threat than Tania. Ayesha, who belonged to Hogghly’s remote Dhaniakhali area, went to Bangladesh and was carrying out activities against the government of the neighbouring country. We do not know how many youths she recruited in India," said an officer of the central agency.

The SIB sleuths came to know that Ayesha had converted to Islam in 2009 while studying in school. "It appears someone took her into confidence. She came in touch with Asmani Khatun, the chief of JMB’s women youth wing in 2016, and was recruited in the outfit. Since then she started visiting Bangladesh frequently. She was in the neighbouring country in the garb of a guest teacher of a religious institute," said the officer, adding, "Asmani was arrested recently in Bangladesh and since then Ayesha was assigned to recruit youths for the outfit."

The presence of JMB operatives in West Bengal came to light after a blast in Khagragarh, Burdwan, in 2014 in which two persons were killed. "We came to know the outfit’s presence in districts such as Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum, and Malda. But Hooghly was never under our scanner because we did not find any footprint in the district while probing into the Khagragarh blast," said another SIB officer.

The central agency informed the Ministry of External Affairs about Ayesha’s arrest. "We need to communicate with Bangladesh Police to know the extent of Ayesha’s activities in West Bengal and India," the officer explained.

My question is not about conversion itself. One needs to question the purpose of sending so called converts across the border, that too to "teach Islam" in a country that's already full of Muslims. I see RAW stamped all over this.

Cool story.

But let me tell you a real one, A romantic one, a "Love jihad".

Pragya Debnath was a student at Dhaniakhali college in Bengal. Her mother Geeta, is a seamstress and the family bread winner. Her father Pradip, a security guard, lost his job during the lockdown. Pragya's Class X & XII results were good and she chose to study Sanskrit in college

While studying in college, she came in contact with a boy of a different community. Turns out, he is a terrorist. They started dating. This boy introduced Pragya to online terror groups in Bangladesh. Few months later, Pragya decided to change her religion and marry the boy.

On September 24, 2016, Pragya left home for Calcutta to boy books. She never returned. Months later, her mother received a call. Pragya informed that she has changed her religion & married her boyfriend. Thus was born Ayesha Jannat Mohona, a famous terrorist leader of Bangladesh.

Pragya landed in Bangladesh. She took had two names. One is her real name (Jannatul Tasmin) but also had another name assigned to her as a terrorist (as is the norm with most terror organisations). That is Ayesha. Ayesha started off with radicalising young minds in online forums.

Ayesha then started teaching children in an unregistered madrassa of Bangladesh, widely believed to be the hot-bed of terror indoctrination programmes. Soon, there came an opportunity as Bangladesh police arrested Aasmani Khatun, the leader of women's wing of Jamaat-Ul-Mujahideen

Ayesha Jannat Mohona became the leader of the Women's Wing of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh or JMB from March 2020. She also married a wealthy Bangladeshi terror financier from Oman, over the phone. Ayesha's primary responsibilities were to indoctrinate people in online forums.

The elevation of Ayesha came with an infamous achievement. She became the first ever convert to have become a leader of a terror organisation that is patronised by the ISIS. Soon Bangladesh anti-terror unit formed a special team to track her movements. She was arrested from Dhaka

During interrogation, Ayesha revealed how semi-urban areas in the districts of Bengal have become terror incubation units. Ayesha specialised in radicalising students of madrassas on both sides of the border. Most such madrassas are unregistered but enjoy huge political patronage

Ayesha disappeared from her home in 2016. She called her mother to inform that she has converted and in Bangladesh. She was a student of a college & the disappearance was widely known.

The answer lies in the replies of Ayesha during her interrogation. It is now known that she freely slipped in and out of India and was associated with Madrassas indoctrinating young minds. The sleeper terror cells in Bengal are active than ever before and multiplied rapidly.

After her arrest from Sadargat in Bangladesh on July 16, there was no visible stress on Pragya's face. In fact, she answered all the questions posed to her calmly and with poise. She has also detailed how she used to cross between boundaries & functioned within the terror network

Some cops have brushed aside the incident saying that Ayesha wasn't involved in an active terror operation and that she wasn't high up in the hierarchy. They're misinformed about outfits like ISIS where women aren't usually involved in ops. They are used to indoctrinate & recruit.

Ayesha's arrest confirms an oft-heard rumour that the interiors of Bengal have become a hot bed for terror activities. That the sleeper terror cells of Bangladesh are operating practically unhindered. The activities of several madrassas and religious leaders are suspect


There was an ISIS style execution of Debendranath Ray, a BJP MLA from North Dinajpur in West Bengal just a few days back, where Hindus are less than 50% of the population. Debendra was found hanging in a public square with his hand tied. His family allege murder. The photos of his body are shocking and outrageous. “She became very close to Asmani Khatun alias Bondi Jibon, the head of the organization, and then committed herself to organizational duties,” Imran further said.

CTTC sources said Mohona used to come to Bangladesh from India frequently since 2016. She collected money from the members of the organization based in different countries and spent it on various activities of the banned militant outfit.

Mohona recently collected a fake Bangladeshi birth certificate and later used it to obtain a Bangladeshi national identity card.

She married Amir Hossain Saddam, a Bangladeshi citizen living in Oman, via mobile phone. She moved to Bangladesh on October 19, 2019, on her husband’s advice.

She rented houses in Dhaka’s Keraniganj and Narayanganj’s Fatullah. At that time she taught at various madrasas in those areas while hiding her identity, the sources said.

Mohona was recruiting members on behalf of the organization. Soon after Asmani Khatun’s arrest, Mohona left her job at the madrasas and went into hiding.

She used various online accounts to recruit male members for the organization and provide religious training to female members. She also used to disburse money among the female members after collecting it from various sources.


No one is claiming the Bangladesh govt. did this. They are one of our staunchest allies against islamic terrorism.

I think its time to post another "cross Border Love story"

It will provide a nice contrast to the earlier story posted above.

This is about Mushaal Mullick , the wife of terrorist turned separatist leader Yasin Malik .

A Pakistani by birth, she is often seen on SM expressing her discontent on how Indian Armed Forces are dealing with situation in Kashmir in a rather exaggerated manner.

Going through all her self-made videos, one can’t help but appreciate her ‘skills’ to turn any international day,event/birth/death anniversary into an agenda to malign the Indian armed forces.

If someone tells you that Mushall Mullick has uploaded a video, expect nothing else but jabber about Indian Govt & its Security Forces. However, it’s not very difficult to understand the reason behind her almost daily, monotonous anti-India rants.

She got married to JKLF leader terrorist Yasin Malik in 2009. People on both sides of border were equally surprised on this ‘hell’ of a match. They just couldn’t understand how a wealthy, English speaking, London School of Economics (evening classes/distance learning) graduate fell for a terrorist, & not to forget the age difference of 20 years. Islamic societies of both India & Pakistan were stunned. After all, what could have possibly curtailed her sense of judgement ? ?

Well apparently, Mushaal was impressed by Yasin’s talks & found a SPIRITUAL connect with him(What?). As funny as it may sound, she had a dream in which she witnessed her nikah with Yasin. After which she decided to marry him. “It was not love at first sight” she said in an Interview . Of course not. Often such cross border matrimonies have extensive planning/conspiracies involved.

As we analysed the history of Mushaal, we found that her father MA Hussein Mullick was a renowned Economist of Pakistan , where defence budget massively exceeds the federal development budget. Due to the handiwork of such prominent ‘economists’, Pakistan is able to justify its misplaced priorities to its naive citizens. No surprise, Mushaal family must still be receiving the dividends of the good work done by her father.

Adding onto that, her mother Rehana Malik was the PRESIDENT of women wing of Pakistan Muslim League(PML). She recognized the influence of Yasin during a conference where he was able to convince 1.5 lac Pakistanis to sign for an anti-India campaign. It is a well known fact that Kashmir unrest is the main agenda of Pak political parties during elections & it also keeps them relevant. Yasin was a perfect candidate to keep political agendas of PML alive. As she got a hint that Yasin is interested in Mushaal, she convinced her & married her off to Yasin within a ‘couple of months’.

Yasin Malik was in the first batch of Kashmiri boys, who went to Pakistan in 1987 to get arms training. Some heinous crimes committed by him:

- Killing of four Indian Airforce personnel in Srinagar in 1990,

- Kidnapped Rubaiyya Sayyed , daughter of then HomeMinister of India, Mufti Md Sayyed for exchange of 5 terrorists,

- Brutal gangrape & murder of #KashmiriPandit Sarla Bhat in 1990.

Mushaal, a self proclaimed crusader of rights of Kashmiris never talks about her husband’s brutality towards innocents that resulted in Kashmiri Pandits exodus from the valley prior to his non-violence drama. Actually she is not even interested. She was sent by her mother as a Kashmiri bride on a specific mission-to further destroy peace initiatives in valley & gather local support through relentless propaganda.

And in no time,that beautiful, seemingly harmless/innocent bride from Pakistan started with her vicious anti-India agenda. Kashmiris were also wondering as to how this rich, sophisticated girl from Pakistan would adjust in Kashmir especially with someone like Yasin. However, for Mushaal, any thought of settling in Kashmir with Yasin quickly vanished when she first visited his ancestral mud house in downtown Srinagar’s Maisuma locality in 2009.

The second time she was here was in 2014, she didn’t even arrive in Kashmir & went back from Delhi. Mushaal levelled allegations that Indian authorities were stopping her from meeting Yasin. It was later found that she has never actually shown interest in visiting him as she did not apply for an Indian visa after her last visit in 2014.

The truth is, this lady realised that living in Yasin’s shabby house in Srinagar will be impossible for her. Also, in no time it dawned upon her that she will not be able to survive the Yasin way of life as he is constantly hounded by authorities frequently jailed due to his criminal record & anti-national stance. Her hobbies (explicit paintings) & lifestyle were again a strict ‘no no’ for the conservative Islamic society of Kashmir.

She returned to Pakistan as quickly as she arrived in India. She had got what she & her mother has thought of. They now had Yasin’s political stature & influence in Kashmir on their side to further their own political interests..

Wittingly, Mushaal identifies herself as Kashmiri in her videos. This helps her both ways. For Pakis, she is a Kashmiri woman ‘oppressed’ in the hands of Indian Govt & for Kashmiris she is a Pakistani who represents Pak’s solidarity with them. In videos she often seems is teary eyed, which shows her level of dedication to gain public sympathy for this hate propaganda.

ISI also sponsors her foreign trips as she continues with her anti-India propaganda in those countries (Conferences & Interviews). She is a regular on seminars & TV shows in Pakistan as well as international news agencies where she is continuously portrayed as a victim of so called Indian Oppression.

She has a fulltime dedicated PR machinery assisting her in fulfilling her vile intentions towards peace efforts by GOI in valley. She also often involves her 6-year-old daughter to rattle out some of these lines (as desperate as it can get).

Yasin is rotting in TiharJail for the crimes he committed, his perpetual stand against the sovereignty of the country & his involvement in anti-India conspiracies often hatched in Pakistan (he has met Hafeez Saeed & Pakistan Army Generals on several occasions). No amount of propaganda can save him from due legal proceedings. And Mushaal meanwhile, is drawing full mileage out of his arrest, calling herself half widow to gain sympathy amongst Kashmiri populace. It is amply clear that Mushaal Malik, having Pakistani intellect, was exported to Kashmir, funded & further promoted by Pakistani authorities to sabotage & malign the image of Armed Forces & GOI.

She formed ‘Peace & Culture organization’ to streamline her wretched efforts against India. Indian authorities need to closely monitor her activities as Mushaal is now the face of Pakistan’s anti India narratives.

At the same time, Yasin Malik’s case hopefully will be fast tracked to deliver justice to victims of his crimes.
