Bit of an escalation from a minor traffic accident.....hilarious.... some ancient looking walkie talkies..... cordless drill and some beer and whisky....
Can someone enlighten me here....there is no prohibition on alcohol in BD as far as i understand.... have seen most brands on sale.... costs loads with import duties and what not... so whats the big deal....

You need a permit to both sell alcohol and consume it.
"In case of drinking alcohol, any Bangladeshi needs to have a permit from the government. In case of a Muslim, such permit may only be given on medical grounds. For such medical treatment permit, one must produce the prescriptions prescribed by not lower then a civil surgeon or associate professor of the medical college. Ok ... so one is not free to drink as i thought....
Whilst i personally do not drink and neither does my parents from what i have seen in dhaka club drinks are free flowing. No is pressured to drink or not drink.
Bangladesh Navy officer and his wife who were beaten by awami league MP son, was in SSF (special security force). It s to be noted, Maj Sinha who was killed by awami killing force in police uniform, was also served in SSF.

The assassination of former Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed has not yet ended. The tension in the cantonment known as Uttarpara has not stopped yet. Especially in the Ramu Cantonment of Cox's Bazar, the former workplace of Major Sinha, there is still extreme anger among the officials. The government is trying to keep the army officials calm by assuring a fair trial.
But in the midst of this tension, Irfan, the son of Awami League MP Haji Selim, who is known as a terrorist in Dhaka, broke his teeth by beating a naval officer. Terrorist Irfan not only beat up a naval officer, but also touched his wife.
In these incidents, the question has arisen in the minds of the people, from the army officer to the naval officer then who? From law enforcers to Awami League leaders, everyone has become reckless in the fuel of those in power.
It is learned that tension spread among the members of the armed forces in the cantonment after the news of the beating of Wasim, a naval officer, was published in various media on Sunday evening. In particular, the officers stationed at the naval headquarters and bases across the country became very angry.
It is learned that the people of DGFI immediately informed the government about the anger of the members of the armed forces.
Soon after, the home minister, the prime minister's security adviser and high-ranking government officials phoned the army, navy and air force chief to assure him of a fair trial.
It is learned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is monitoring it directly from Ganobhaban. He called on the Armed Forces to remain calm. According to another source, after this incident, there has been concern among the policy makers of the government including Sheikh Hasina.
