Fergani Space Technologies has been founded in 2022. Fergani is a company that serves the New Space industry by producing commercial satellites, satellite components, space payloads and space tugs that have been developed using high performance and cost effective innovative propulsion technology. Mission of the company is that Lead The World In Sustainability And Affordibity For Space Transportation And Near Earth Services Through Inovation and Novel Technologies…
Fergani Space will initially work on low-orbit constellation satellites and inter-orbital transfer systems (new generation space tugs) as well as global positioning system. In this context, satellite launch activities are expected to start, within 2 years.
The core management that will shape the company's policies consists of CEO Selçuk Bayraktar, CTO Arif Karabeyoğlu and COO Alper Güzel.
TEAM:
CEO of Fergani, Selçuk Bayraktar
CTO of Fergani, Arif Karabeyoğlu
COO of Fergani, Alper Güzel
SERVICES:
Fergani Space is intent to become a world leading space company through the in-house development of new age satellites based on its existing advanced hardware, software and manufacturing technologies.
Fergani constellation is going to provide technological solutions for marine , aviation, IOT, weather, logistics and enterprise market applications.
Fergani’s 100 kg class micro satellite platforms will operate at an altitude range of 500-600 km. These satellites will provide communication and positioning services and will be operating in the Ku, Ka, S and L bands for global coverage.
At the same time, accurate positional information of the satellites, their control and communication will be handled using the ground facilities that will be developed by Fergani Space.
Cost effective launch systems are designed to place a very large mass of satellites to a spesific earth orbit. Most of the time, the target of the primary customer and the secondary payloads are different. Thus any customer either has to wait for a suitable launch that will take its satellite as a secondary payload close to its desired orbit, which might take a very long time, or will have to go as a primary customer which will result in a significantly increased launch cost. Either way time loss or monetary cost will be detremental to the business of the satellite company.
Fergani’s unique cost effective space tug solution will transfer the secondary payload to the desired orbit mitigating the adverse afromentioned operational issues associated with the launch service.
The in-space logistical capabilities that are offered by Fergani’s space tug will lead to substantial competition advantage to satellite operators that are conducting business in the inherently difficult space envoirement.
Fergani’s space tug system will improve the operational capability of the satellites by giving them the ability to change their energy state as they operate in space.
In short, Fergani’s high technology cost effective space tug solution will be critical in improving the efficiency of a satellite system throughout its life-cycle, from orbital insertion to the final maneviour to the grave yard orbit.

Selçuk Bayraktar is the CTO of Baykar, founding chairman of the T3 Foundation, and chief architect of Turkey’s first indigenous, operational UAV Systems.
Selçuk was born in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul in 1979. He completed his primary education in Sarıyer Primary School and graduated from Robert College in 1997. He then pursued his undergraduate education in Istanbul Technical University’s (ITU) Electronics and Communication Engineering department. While at ITU, he was offered a scholarship by the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) where he received his Master’s Degree in 2004. While at UPenn, he was awarded a second scholarship by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a research assistant in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, where he then completed a second Master’s Degree.

He returned to Turkey in 2007 and has since been serving as the CTO of Baykar, which developed the first national UAVs to serve the Turkish Security Forces in excess of hundreds of thousands of hours. He has advanced his applied research in the fields of avionics system architecture, flight control, navigation algorithm development, system kinematics and dynamics, electronic hardware and embedded software development. Throughout his work, he has emphasized the indigenization of unmanned technology and underlined its importance as a national priority.
Selçuk Bayraktar has developed Bayraktar Akıncı – Turkey’s first UAV in its class – weighing in at a sizeable 6 tons. He is currently working on the Bayraktar Kızılelma UCAS (Unmanned Combat Aircraft System), which will be Türkiye’s first unmanned fighter jet. At the same time, in his capacity as a pioneer of Turkey’s “National Technology Initiative”, he has built a series of technology products. They include Cezeri, Turkey’s first flying car, and a medical respirator built to address the challenge presented by the COVID pandemic. The latter was done in cooperation with Turkey’s premiere firms (Biosys, Aselsan, and Arçelik) and was exported internationally.
In addition to his professional work, Selçuk is the founding Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation). T3 aims to ensure that talented young people and adults in kind participate in the development of high technology in Turkey. T3 also supports youth camps, entrepreneurship, and research and development activity geared towards indigenizing high technology into world class products made in Turkey
Selçuk is married with a child and is an avid private pilot.

Satellite Constellations
Recently satellite services has become an important ingredient in a wide range sectors of Türkiye’s and Global economy. Over the years LEO satellites have been getting smaller and instead having an expensive satellite with a complicated mission requirement, constellations made out of small, cost effective satellites are currently being preferred. Fergani Space is developing a constellation of micro satellites based on this new approach.Fergani Space is intent to become a world leading space company through the in-house development of new age satellites based on its existing advanced hardware, software and manufacturing technologies.

Space Tug
As a result of the New Space approach and significantly reduced launch costs, the number of satellites operating in space has been increasing dramatically, leading to an ever growing requirement to conduct in-space orbital transfers.Cost effective launch systems are designed to place a very large mass of satellites to a spesific earth orbit.
