Barkat Ventures delivers the first batch of covid-19 vaccines to the Iranian Ministry of Health

Today, the first batch of BARKAT covid-19 vaccine, containing 300,000 doses, was delivered to the Ministry of Health for Phase III trials (vaccination of the general population).

Future delivery and production schedules:
1 million doses of BARKAT vaccine will be delivered to the MoH by May 21st, 2021
3-4 million doses of BARKAT vaccine will be produced and delivered by June 21st, 2021
10-12 million doses of BARKAT vaccine will be produced and delivered by July 22nd, 2021
20 million doses of BARKAT vaccine will be produced and delivered by August 22nd, 2021
30 million doses of BARKAT vaccine will be produced and delivered by September 22nd, 2021

65 million doses of BARKAT covid-19 vaccine will be produced and delivered to the Ministry of Health before September 23rd, 2021 before the start of the new school year in Iran.

By the next year (April 21st, 2022), Iran will be able to produce and deliver over 150 million doses of BARKAT covid-19 vaccine, mostly for exporting.

The BARKAT covid-19 vaccine is comparable to Sinopharm and Bharat vaccines with a similar efficiency rate. It does not produce immunity against the South African variant of covid-19, but it has proven to be efficient against the Chinese and the English variants of the virus.

At the end of the day, it depends on the surface proteins of the strain. If different strains have similar spikes, an inactive virus vaccine should be able to trigger an immune response against them.

It's too late for us humans to hope for a happy ending with this covid-19 pandemic. Even if we vaccinate humans, animals will continue to circulate the virus and we won't be able to get rid of the animal reservoirs of the virus. The best we can do is to create vaccines that are effective against the lethal strains of covid until only less severe variants of the virus are left and then we should learn to live with the remaining variants. And a new lethal variant can always reemerge in future and cause other pandemics. That's the most likely scenario.

It's too early to talk about this vaccine's effectiveness against Indian or South African variants, even in India still there is not enough data. South African covid doesn't trigger the immune system that's why all vaccines (regardless of type) are less efective against it, but it's too early to judge about the actual results.

by the way I wonder this 80% is the efficact against the viruses or the ability against the deadly cases of the infection . if the vaccine have 80% efficacy in preventing the disease and then more than 90% efficacy in preventing severe cases of the disease then its better than Baharat and Sinofarm or Johnson & Johnson Vaccine but it will fall behind Sputnik-v and Moderna and Pfizer vaccine .its efficacy will be roughly like AstraZeneca vaccine

On Other hand the most likely vaccine to Razi institute vaccine will be RBD-Dimer and if it show the same result as that vaccine then we will have a vaccine equal to Pfizer or even better than that and its interesting to note that RBD-Dimmer vaccine is one of the few vaccine that shows efficacy against African variant
