Not many military equipment purchased yet. Only a regiment TRG-300 MLRS came recently. In the past Bangladesh army bought Otokar Kobra IMV from Turkey. That's it.

I would like to see Bangladesh spending more on its people than on its armed forces.

Bangladesh bests most of the subcontinent in health, hygiene and other HDI numbers for its populace. Education and literacy wise it is going neck and neck with India at average which again, is better than most except Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh boasts two of the largest GLOBAL NGO's in the world, Grameen and BRAC.

Bangladesh on the Rise in Turkey’s Export List
May 6, 2021

“Bangladesh has become an important customer of the Turkish defence industry,” Bangladesh media reported. “One of the major buyers of military equipment produced in Turkey was Bangladesh,” the report said, referring to Turkey’s export list.

In 2021, Bangladesh became the fourth-largest arms buyer from Turkey after the United States, Azerbaijan, and the UAE. Bangladesh reportedly received $56.77 million worth of weapons from Turkey in April.

Approximately $1 billion worth of defence and aerospace industrial products were exported from Turkey in the first four months of the year. The first place in sales is the United States with $386,100,000, followed by Azerbaijan with $117,315,000, the United Arab Emirates with $90,299,000, Bangladesh with $57,827,000 and Germany with $50, 14,000.

The TRG-300 MLRS is a significant purchase as it finally gives BD a truly powerful deterrent via neighboruing countries.

I think this is just the start and we are likely to see BD's next-gen frigate programme being of a Turkish design and also MRSAMs for BAF are likely to come from Turkey.

Turkey is likely to join China and the West as the largest defence supplier to BD this decade. Russia will be eased out.

Yeah Bangladeshi immigrants to Western countries are largely uneducated and lower class (why else would they move abroad?).

At home it is a different story because of grassroots NGO involvement.

But I did use credible sources, including this Pakistani one.

Someone from a developed country would never link some graph or figures to prove the point that how excellent his country is doing. Neither Pakistan and India nor Bangladesh are doing in good. They are plagued with corruption to the core and they are spending more armed forces. For ten years, they should invest more and more in education and health, only then some facts and figures will be acceptable.
