What's new

Bangladesh's brand value $508bn more than twice of Pakistan’s $232bn, 10 times of Sri Lanka’s $48bn

I honestly don't see the points of these threads. It's getting repetitive and frankly turning people off to visit this section of the forum. I get that the BD newspapers publish these every once in a while for brownie points with BAL, but here it serves no other purpose than bunch of triggered people from both camps fighting against each other parroting the same things over and over again. This is like the 3rd or 4th such thread in last couple of days. Just because there is a news article on Bangladesh, doesn't mean we have to post it. It just makes Bangladeshis in general look like attention seekers.

We still have to improve a lot in every sector, and we should set the the benchmark against the likes of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and try to emulate their success in economic and social development. We work towards it, our hard work will speak for itself.

We don't need to care about what some racist individuals from other countries thinks of us and nor should we need to feel the need to prove ourselves to them.

.
And yet multi national brands like Tim Hortons and Emaar come to Pakistan and not BD. Even with security issues we still get many times more visitors than BD.

What kind of soft power is this I want to know.
While the article and thread are idiotic, you are yet again using the wrong metric to compare economic progress.
"Top Brands" are also present in Khartoum, does not mean Sudan is acing economic progress.
A few thousand ultra-wealthy is a good enough market for top brands to operate a few outlets in a country - says nothing about the wider economy is performing.

National brand value has nothing to do with what brand outlets operate in your country. It is largely about the demand for the goods and services you produce.

What I learned from my interaction here with you guys is most of them are shills for awami league and wont hear anything constructive. Reminds me of CCP level brainwashing.

The article is idiotic because he didnt bother looking at the overall ranking where PK was ahead. He saw a clickbait article and posted it here.

How would @Black_cats breathe without opening moronic Bangladesh vs India/Pakistan threads?

His wife told me he had to be put on a ventilator by the end of a 2-week hiatus from posting such threads.

We are talking about soft power not gdp growth. You are mixing up things.

What exactly is it that BD has in terms of soft power? With PK I can comfortably say our music is renowned worldwide and our singers sellout arenas everywhere. Our cricket team has alot of value. In terms of tourism our mountains are some of the most famous in the world and attract alot of foreign hikers. We have most of the brands here. All of these combine to form a soft power.
very accurate

I won't disagree some BD members here have strong affliation with BAL, but on the other hand, some Pakistani members have also been displaying their ugly racist side. There is constructive criticism and then there is pure hatred. I am not accusing you of that - just so we are clear.

Anyway, I will bounce now before I get dragged into this mess.

No one is hating anyone. The articles posted are usually inaccurate as in this case or are posted one after another no reason other than to discuss " gdp growth" or "forex reserves" which in both cases have been proven to be dubious.

I mean even if we go by that the per capita has increased by mere $800-900. The posters here are acting as they just became a high income country.

. .
To the BD members it seems any positive news of BD can not be posted as it will hurt Pakistanis? Who published this ranking? BD or other international organizations? If all nations of the earth are ranked here definitely some sort of comparison will come with neighboring countries. It’s the immature Pakistani members who gets triggered with any such comparison.

To @Khan_21 no one has said Bangladedh has become a high income country as still it’s a developing country and aiming to be a developed country with 12000 usd per capita income by 2041. But for sure it has higher per capita gdp than Pakistan and India. That being said Bangladedh still needs to improve on number of fronts to achieve its next level of targets.

Comparison with Pakistan and India mainly comes as both are regional and neighboring countries and specially the past Bangladedh had with Pakistan.

Did you even see the ranking? Because you saw a clickbait article and just posted it. BD is behind India/PK here.

Ranking has 41 component and many component has sub components. Brand value is one of them and Bangladesh came out as the fastest growing country in the world in terms of brand value that’s why this article is posted. If Pakistan overall ranked 84th ahead by 13 position I have no prob with it. That’s good for Pakistan. What’s Indias ranked 5th? Good for them as well but population wise brand value of India came lower then Bangladesh.

.
Bd has growing economy, so is everything in the upward trend but that’s not the case with Pakistan. Pakistan remained ahead until around 2015 after that it has taken a backward trend. That has also caused your brand value to go downwards. As the time passes the difference will grow further, you will see the rise of the brand value of Bangladesh further. All the examples you are giving are the things of the past not future.

So as the economy grows it raises the soft power status of Bangladesh.

Banghadesh has a service based economy,

in terms of resources there is very little ,
as is in terms of trade access.

Pakistan is not a poor country, it is a mismanaged country which is ruled by the bank of
britain through pakistan army.

Once free, the potential and possibility is immense.

Are you suggesting that BDs censor themselves for the sake of others? Every country publicises success, I do not see why we should not.

It is not being done to denigrate anyone, if someone thinks its a dig at them its their issue, nothing to do with us.

No one is forced to read the article or comment .... just move on if it not your thing.

I wonder why Nigerians don't spend their lifetime on our forums comparing their country and economy to ours. I guess their government hasn't filled them with the same false ego...

.
Bangladesh's brand value rose by a record 37% to $508bn in 2023, up from $371 billion in 2022, according to Brand Finance, a chartered accountancy firm regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Stop BAL propaganda. Why do you have to always open a thread that compares BD with Pakistan?

Is not this forum called PDF? Why make relations with Pakistani posters without a good reason except that you believe in the BAL falsehood?

please do not do it anymore. Quarreling with Pakistanis should be avoided.
