Bangladesh will have to handover land to India from Khulna to Sylhet: Subramanian Swamy

Do u read what u write? Like just to see if it makes sense? The rise of RSS(and other such Hindutva extremists) has nothing to do with BD? That's like saying the rise of the Nazi party in Germany has nothing to do with Poland. RSS thrives on anti Muslim hate.
The difference is obvious, my friend. The right wingers aren't sending over anyone to conquer Bangladesh, all they do is to talk big for domestic consumption. On the other hand, Bangladeshi fundamentalists are sending over their brainwashed t@rrorists over to my state Assam and other parts of India where they are nabbed routinely. There is a big difference you see, Bangladeshis are working silently to undermine our sovereignty. Even their government is helpless in this regard, so why are you insisting on blaming the Indian government which has cultivated friendly ties with them, for the views of fringe elements that exist in both countries.

If RSS was a fringe element then u could call it as such...but it is not. Together with BJP it has taken hold at a massive scale. U may see it as an insult...but I'm merely speaking the truth as I see it.

U say the rightwingers aren't sending over anyone to conquer BD. When Hitler published Mein Kampf...a person like u living in that time could've used that same argument..."the rightwingers aren't sending over anyone to conquer Poland"...and they would be right...for a short time. Others...who tend to look at the bigger picture...they wouldn't leave it to chance. They would anticipate that possible threat and prepare accordingly. When u have ppl with dangerous ideologies come to power...u can't just live on the HOPE that they won't act on it. U r basically saying that BD shouldn't be prepared? Why not? If they build a strong military and cultivate an alliance with China...and everything remains peaceful with India...everybody living happily ever after then where's the harm in that?

If however things go sideways...at the very least BD would be prepared.

I understand friend, but the entire North East is supporting BJP central government and our BJP state governments but that doesn't mean that we are affiliated to the RSS or whatever.

We want Bangladesh to be in peace with us, just that they should stop sending their smugglers and fundamentalist elements over to NE. We are concerned about our interests, as they should be. And if that entails that they build a stronger military then who are we to complain.

That is why i have asked them to list their grievances with India and in turn we will list ours. Discussion is a two way street.

Final thoughts, we don't like our law enforcers being killed defending our NE from Bangladeshi citizens. We in NE aren't sending our people over to BD to cause their country inconveniences, so why should they.

It matters not whether the ppl are affiliated with it. By hook or by crook they r in power. This means the power to implement their ideology...power to spread their ideology. The rise in mob rule...ppl lynching victims over beef accusation...ppl beating up victims forcing them to say jai shree ram...have u not seen this become more common place? As compared to like 40 years ago? See the difference yet? IMO it's only going to get worse.

It seems u r concerned more about current scenario...events going on at the local level. I was never addressing that. I don't live there...I have no way of witnessing what u say is true or false as far as the problems u wrote above. I was talking about the grand strategy...the chess pieces moving on the board.

If u think that India would become some sort of utopia where ppl of all colors, creed, and religion would hold hands and sing together...then u will be wishing forever. That time NEVER existed. There were always tensions(hence the two nation theory)...and despite the best efforts of some ppl in keeping India "secular" and keeping "religion" out of politics...it found its way in. The tensions and hatred among various groups(especially Hindus and Muslims) have always existed underneath the surface...it started with bad...has gotten worse...and is going to deteriorate further.

Add to this the expansionist ideology of India...Junagadh, Hyderabad, Sikkim, J&K...all taken in the name of "national security" or "interest" or [insert reason here]. This was back when India's economy hadnt taken off yet. Now with the economy strong and western powers backing India(for their own reasons)...India has more ambitions at least at the regional level.

All of this points to a good possibility...that if a conflict of interest arises and India finds itself at odds with a country it can strongarm into submission...it WILL strongarm it into submission.

So now then...do u have anything to argue against what I'm saying? If u wish to discuss more of that immigration(whether legal or illegal) issue then kindly don't quote me...since that's not my argument.

Here is the evidence to back up your above claims:

Pakistan has domain over at least 35% of Kashmir. China has 25% control, but the Chinese sector of Kashmir is run with Pakistani autonomy. Therefore Pakistan rules at least 60% of Kashmir. indian occupied Kashmir is around 40% at most. So most of Kashmir is already with us. That is the reality. We have achieved all of this despite being more than 7× smaller than india. A first in human history:

"U say the rightwingers aren't sending over anyone to conquer BD" ????? this is exactly what you used to say about Kashmir when you were weak, now you are strong and look what you have done to Kashmir !!!!!!!
Our BD friends should not be fooled by RSS goons and start getting ready

But you conveniently ignore that Bangladesh is sending over theirs even as we are on friendly terms. What are we to do then? International border may be a joke to you guys but we take infiltration seriously. Let Bangladesh stop sending their citizens over first.

Assam is a poor shit hole with per capita gdp less than half of Bangladesh. Stop parroting this debunked claim Bangladeshis are going there in large number. Mostly smuggler or Hindus might go but that’s also not big.

If you ask a beggar in BD he will refuse to go for begging in India, let alone Assam.

Your govt has even refused to talk to. BD regarding 4 million pre 1971 Bengali Muslims calling it an internal matter, how can I trust you BD are infiltrating Assam?

You must believe what @Axomiy_lora says. He has newly arrived from the Vedic era to propagate Indian position. Now, he is perplexed to see that his FM refuses to accept NRC data and avoided it by saying it is India's internal matter. His position almost directly supports BD position on the matter. I hope, @Axomiya_lora does not drop dead from by jumping from a mountain.

We know their face, we know your face or any other face that is relevant. BTW why are you guys interested about our alliance with China?
What about your own face ? do u know that? ..... Anyhow none of our concerns..... nd, no we should not and practically are not interested in you alliance with china or for that matter any other country ..... its just the sentiments of an emotional countryman of mine who got carried away by thought of sovereignty of your country at stake....

Unable to recover Kashmir, you guys want India to catch us by our neck. Bengal was independent of India long before we built Pakistan.
wrong again..... we never had Kashmir to recover it.... whatever we have now is what we took by force.... this too is not the solution... kashmir is not ours nor theirs to begin with... it belongs to the Kashmiris ... and they should be given this choice to choose and be the architects of their own destiny .... its a natural right.... which one party is trying to snatch from them by force and might..... Its also your choice ... by yours i mean Bangladeshs choice to side with whichever party it deems fit...

And no we absolutely do not want india or for that matter any other country to catch you by your neck.... and we would always want you to hold and enjoy your freedom with respect and pride!

We know our face.

Rest of your post is good to hear. No need to worry about is, we are in control of our affairs. Won't require advice from Pakistan.

So far IMO Hasina is very much pro India. In any case...yes BD needs more development economically...however I think that BD is at the stage where it can afford to spend the average 2%(like most nations) of its GDP on its military...while at the same time also growing its economy. Moreover if BD goes for a JV with other nations(China, Turkey, Ukraine, Indonesia, South Africa, etc.) it would be an even more bang for the buck. If I remember correctly Indonesia recently built a medium weight tank with Turkey...BD could do the same. BD has similar environment to Indonesia...Ukraine can provide valuable inputs in that too...and with that BD can kickstart local tank production. As for the navy...due to massive IN size, BD would have to go heavily for A2AD assets like submarines...China can help there. These capabilities can't be built overnight...IMO BD should start now. Then in the next 20 years u would start to see a decent fighting force emerge.

A couple of points:

Firstly, the initial problem lies in recognition of the problem.

As you have stated there appears to be a Pro-India government in BD presently.

But in all fairness they have taken steps that aren't completely in line with Indian interests.

i.e. Chinese submarine buy. i.e. Chinese built submarine base. i.e. not taking them up on their 500 mill carrot.

But who knows what the reality of the situation is.

My argument here is that I believe a BJP led India will pose a threat to Bangladesh in the future.

Not likely with actual military means, but more so intimidation.

I hope BD folks with leadership potential realize this as well.

With that being the assumption lets proceed:

1.2% versus 2% is a difference between 3.8 billion USD and 6.3 billion USD.

I agree with you, in order to field a more capable armed forces BD has to increase its absolute spending.

But also do it in an efficient manner. (Impossible, I know because its Bangladesh and corruption is a given)

But lets say you have another 2.5 billion annually from 2020 on to play with.

You can buy or invest a significant amount into your military.

For me, I would buy off the shelf immediately and get a stronger culture underway.

At the same time develop whats needed for in house weapons development and manufacturing.

JV with China, Turkey, Indonesia etc.

I do believe some steps like this are underway but the other BD members here have more specific info on it.

But its essential to change the culture and threat perceptions of the country's population and armed forces.

In terms of what I would do:

A specific example would be the BAF. I would make the investments needed to field a Western system and buy a Western fighter at this point. And increase training standards to effectively utilize it. My goal would be to get up to a level where BD can participate meaningfully in international exercises. But Western is very expensive. So field a Chinese type for the numbers.

As a side note, it's super intriguing what the BAF is thinking right now.

Similar approach to the other branches.

i.e. 2 old Chinese subs have already been bought. And reportedly the Chinese are going to build a dedicated sub base. Perhaps more new builds are being procured.

i.e. There is an "indigenous" Frigate program. 6 examples at some point. Chinese or European based.

i.e. BD seems to be buying some helicopters from Europe.

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-s...a-sales-under-new-business-plan-idUKKBN1FP0TM

i.e. The 5 ex-RAF C-130J that have been bought.

https://www.janes.com/article/90032...e-surplus-uk-c-130j-airlifters-by-end-of-year

I would say acquire a mix of Western and Chinese weapons.

Become less reliant on India versus China dynamic.

Diversify politically into relationships with Japan, UK, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, and yes the US.

Lean towards China but not all the way.

I would say BD and PK should become closer.

If not allies then certainly much more cordial, and develop military ties.

It doesn't take a genius to see a BJP India as a threat for BOTH nations.

KEEP INDIA ON EDGE. Three fronts are worse than 2.

Bangladesh however, is challenged geographically, so there is a limit to any over animosity it can show towards India.

Keep in mind, its probably unlikely for their to ever be actual conflict with India in the future.

However, there is certainly going to be intimidation if BD does not have a capable military AND the political

orientation in place to respond to such intimidation by India.

Logical analysis but I differ on one ground only i.e. RSS will try to bully BD physically as well
