http://www.bssnews.net/?p=156342

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2019 (BSS) -Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq today said Bangladesh will honour to all 1,661 martyred heroes of the Indian Armed Forces in 1971 Liberation War soon.

“Recognizing the supreme sacrifices made by the 1,661 Indian armed forces personnel in the great Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has decided to honour those martyrs posthumously” the minister said while addressing as the chief guest at a function, arranged by Indian High Commission in Dhaka for the celebration of 70th Republic Day of India at International Convention City in Bashundhara area here.

“During her (Sheikh Hasina) state visit to India in April, 2017, she personally conferred honour to the next of kin of 7 martyred Indian Armed Forces Personnel… On December 16 in 2018, at the Fort William of Kolkata, the minister himself handed over the honour to relatives of 12 personnel of the Indian Armed Forces,” he added.

He wished the members of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and to the government and the friendly people of India.

He said, on this day in 1950, the will of the people of India and their dream of ‘Freedom’ epitomized in the newly adopted constitution of India featuring Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity and thus the foundation of the world’s largest democracy was laid.

The minister said Bangladesh-India relationship is multifaceted in nature and is rooted in our shared history and geographical proximity.

“India’s critical role in support of Bangladesh’s war of independence under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971 was a watershed moment in our relations,” he said, adding that India was one of the first countries to recognize Bangladesh on December 06, 1971 as an independent country.

“With the wholehearted support of the people and under the able stewardship of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are confident that Bangladesh will become a developed country by 2041 – the 70th year our independence,” he continued.

The minister hoped that the friendship between the two countries will continue to grow from strength to strength in the days ahead.

Jatiya Sangsad speaker, ministers, deputy high commissioner of India in Dhaka, members of parliament and different distinguished guests, among others, were present at the function.

arent you people too late ? i mean almost 40 years after why not after your liberation ???

The saddest thing is these sons and daughters of traitors and Indian stooges still exist, who sold their deen and imaan for the Indian rupee and let themselves be enjoyed by the Indians.

They were freedom fighters, who fought for their freedom from tyrants (as per our perspective). India just provided a small helping hand. Just like Pakistan tried to help the oppressed people of the Kingdom of Kashmir back in 1947 (and ongoing). So why these double standards aka politics of convenience?? Huh ?? :o::o::o:

Atleast get the facts right. Since 1989. There was no major military presance in J&K until then. Regarding your initial statement it is the matter of perception as I had said earlier. :-)

Yes, free of Pakistan and in servitude of India, what a freedom.

Should have done long ago. Maybe build a memorial for them.
Correct. We will never forget their sacrifice.

I m sure our honourable prime minister Hasina will will give them their due respect and build some sort of memorial for them.

What a kanjar insaan.... lowest of the lowest person ...

What a kanjar insaan.... lowest of the lowest person ...
For wanting to give respect to those who sacrificed their lives to free us from the oppressive Pak regime? Lowest of the lowest person were those who looted Bangladesh for 20 years, deprived bengalis of their basic rights and in the end got their well deserved treatment.
