Due to three additional days off before Eid, many people living in Dhaka travelled to their home villages to see their loved ones. On Thursday, May 5, 2022, public and private offices still seemed sluggish after the holiday.

Don't blow your own trumpet too soon. Any new variant can change the situation. That is the nature of this virus. I was reading a report today that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have underreported the scale of deaths in their respective countries. There were 8x more deaths in Pak and Bd. And in the case of India there were 9x more deaths.

Yes, yes, 8x reported deaths in BD... because Bangladeshis are just the right kind of visually impaired to not notice millions of their neighbours/fellow countrymen fall like flies in one of the world's most densely populated countries.

Makes total and complete sense, yes.

We are not blowing our trumpet, it is Japanese news outlet Nikkei. Go ask them...

Oh the butthrt knows no bounds it seems.:disagree:

BD excess mortality was 140,000 compared to 30,000 reported deaths and so let us say 4.5x - remember it would have been probably around 100,000 if that turd Modi did not stop export of contracted UK AstraZeneca jabs to BD back in March 2021

India has excess mortality 10 times that of the official figures.

Millions of Indians perished due to incompetence and neglect of the BJP during the pandemic.

If you knew anything about basic virus biology then you would know that natural immunity can last years if not decades and so this virus is dead and buried in nearly all countries in the world and is now no more than an irritant.

On-topic - Congrats to BD government for handling this virus as well as it could. Again shows the advantages of being a unitary state.

It wasn't India fault. US government put a ban on material that was needed to stabilize the vaccine. Only after back stage diplomatic efforts, it was released. Indian needs were not met because of this delay. Real turd was Mr Trump, who imposed this ban, under his America first slogan. Every country looks at its needs first, including India.

India in fact sent in free batches of vaccines to all its neighbors including Bd during initial stages of its production. We are a giving nation.

India BLOCKED vaccine supply to Bangladesh during the most critical COVID stages. And Bangladesh Govt. had PAID Serum Institute (SII) for these vaccines ahead of time. The block lasted at least a year, maybe more.

Great. Well done BD.

A report and 'index' like these are good for debate, nothing more. All depends on how one can mathematically find an index to simplify a hugely complicated phenomenon.
eg., GHI ranks US as the best prepared to fight against pandemic - "GHS Index measures the capacities of 195 countries to prepare for epidemics and pandemic". It still ranks US at top.

We all know how the covid pandemic turned out for US. Good for you if you trust these, I won't bet my life on such index coming from analysts. I mean we also got an index which ranked India as top 5 air forces, right? How many of you trust that?

US planners didn’t cater for a nutter President. Who undermined everything with crazy clap trap like injecting bleach. And made vaccine and masks a political wedge issue.
