Last 2 indicate that you are smaller population, hence the success. All those statistics just pale in comparison with SOUTHERN indian states. Yet India has much larger stages that skew the statistics. Bangladesh is just about as large as orissa may be.

Comparison of Bangladesh with whole of India is not correct. There are atleast 13 states that does better than Bangladesh on any of those parameters but we have Uttarpradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan that skew every statistics.

The numbers are all that matters, how the numbers got to where they are is irrelevant.

Who said we don't like BIMARUs, they are our brothers and sisters. I just meant that Bangladesh size is comparable to a state. And there are many states in India that does better than Bangladesh. UP is coming up fast. Its revenue and budget are bigger than Bangladesh already. It'll only grow even bigger in coming years. So watch out.

What are we supposed to be on the lookout for ? This isn't race, not to us, it isn't.



This is the path to development,... these numbers, these comparisons and the vitriol, it's all a consequence of that; sustained growth.



The point here is to improve our countries, whether we are one or two notches ahead or behind India (or any other country) is besides the point.



And realistically speaking any sort of economic comparison between India and Bangladesh is meaningless, I won't get into the details but I have explained this partly in earlier posts.



India is a completely different animal compared to Bangladesh, it thrives on internal consumption and the various state economies piggyback off of each other, it's different than Bangladesh; very different.



Of course, human development indices are still relevant and comparisons on those fronts can reveal critical data but economic comparisons... Not so much.



Then again, this is just me, others may see it differently.

I meant it in a friendly competitive way. I seriously think UP will be largest economy with in India in 10-12 years by a mile.

Infant mortality rate of Kerala is 7. Tamil Nadu 17, Karnataka 22 but Madhya Pradesh has the highest at 48. That skews all three states because of higher population.

Central Indian states like UP have a very unruly and backward populace, people can get rich over night, but lifestyles and old habits die hard.



Just take the UP rapepidemic for instance, these incidents occur daily in UP and at an unbelievable rate, it is all innately related to the local culture.




Toxic masculinity, Patriarchy, misogyny and lack of respect for the rule of law, that's where UPs rape problem begins.

I don't think that is it. It's the caste based politics that were encouraged under Congress, SP and BSP rules, that left them economically weak and people uneducated. What's the current GDP? As far as I know, only Maharastra has higher GDP than Bangladesh. And with high growth of BD, it might make it to $1 trillion by 2030 to 2032. It's hard to believe UP's GDP would be a trillion before or with BD with lower GDP aggregate, unless it has significantly higher growth than BD.

CEBR projects Bangladesh to be at 1.23 trillion USD by 2034, cross 1 trillion in 2031 ??


Remains to be seen, we are going in the right direction, that's all that matters.




UP is home to a 199 million people and with a high Total fertility rate of 3, they'll only grow in terms of population from here on out.


Can they get to 1 trillion in the 2030s, maybe, it's not impossible but right policies are needed, remember they have the whole Indian economy to piggyback over.



UP is at 250 Billion currently, we are at 340 billion but remember this, their population is growing at an exponential rate, ours isn't, we have the best TFR numbers in South Asia.


UP's GDP per capita is 990 USD or less, less than half of ours, by 2030 their population is only grow, so 1 trillion or not UP will still have exorbitant amounts of poverty.
