Bangladesh Navy will visit Kochi in Kerala as part of a good will mission, Bangladesh High Commissioner Tariq A Karim, who called on Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, announced here today. Bangladesh will establish tie up with Kerala in the Cultural and Educational sectors, he said.
The boundary of friendship of Kerala with Bangladesh would also be extended, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said after a meeting with the Bangladesh High Commissioner here. Culture Minister KC Jospeh also attended the meeting. Bangladesh and Kerala has got similarities in geography and culture. Agriculture, food etc of Bangladesh is almost same as that of Kerala, the High Commissioner said.
He said Bangladesh desires to have a strong relation with Kerala in Coastal Shipping, Health, Education, and Tourism sectors and added that Bangladesh would participate in trade fares and other developmental initiatives in Kerala. Pointing out that Kerala being a state with cent percent literacy, the atmosphere is conducive for investments, he also promised the participation of Bangladesh in the Annual Emerging Kerala Meet.
Claiming that Kerala is an investor friendly state and is ready to cooperate with countries interested in investments in the state, the Chief Minister promised to create conducive atmosphere for discussion in the field of trade and commerce. He made it clear that the state is giving importance for basic developmental activities in the state and reminded that the state had gone forward in the field of education and health
