I second this. 99% of Bangladeshi will choose Islam over Bengali culture if asked to chooose one of the two.

However, they are not mutually exclusive. I can be a muslim while eating panta vaat. These are not mutually exclusive.

It's not rocket science. Not just exclusive to Bengalis but to every Muslim person. I love my country but the hierarchy is simple.

This is exactly what I repeatedly said here.

Bengali is a part of Muslim identity. By accepting It, We can finally be one.

If persian is a Muslim Language, Then Bengali is too. Only the introduction of Press in Kolkata around 1800 helped them to hijack Bangla from us.

Bengali language has its roots in Sanskrit. I don't know if there is anything like "Muslim language"...because people used to speak all these languages before Islam as a religion was born, but if there is any, then it is Arabic or Persian, and certainly not Bengali.

Arabic is a semitic language. While Persian is Indo European. If Urdu and Farsi( spoken by Zoroastrians) is called Muslim Language Then there is no problem in calling Bengali a muslim language specially when It was standardized under direct patronage of Sultans. Yes it is originated from Sanskrit but it is not Sankrit. They co existed and Bengali sultans replaced sanskrit with Bengali.

I concur that language doesn't have a religion... Unfortunately In my country it is not looked at that way.
