China is a reliable and affordable source of weapons and equipments for Bangladesh, the release said.

On Thursday, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka hosted a grand reception marking 85th founding anniversary of the People's Liberation Army of China at Radisson Hotel. Chinese envoy in Dhaka, Li Jun, welcomed the guests at Utshab Hall.

China will forge closer military ties with Bangladesh in the coming years ‘in various fields and at all levels’.

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka said this in a press statement marking the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army on Thursday.

‘China is a reliable and affordable source of weapons and equipment for Bangladesh,’ said the release.

It said many officers from Bangladesh received training in Chinese army, naval and air force academies from tactical up to strategic levels.

Referring to Bangladesh’s former army chief general Mubeen’s visit to China last September, it said China’s defence minister, general Liang Guanglie, pledged to forge close ties with the Bangladesh military ‘in various fields and at all levels.’

The coming years, according to the release, will witness a growing number of high-level exchange visits, training programmes, defence procurement and security cooperation such as in counter-terrorism, anti-piracy and disaster relief.

The Embassy hosted a reception at a city hotel on the occasion of the founding anniversary of PLA, attended by politicians, journalists, civil society members and military officials.

we have to make it more closer the relation of the military we are still far unlike Pakistan

China is making us to spend more and more money and resources to strengthen our defense, they are increasing the threat perception. They are already good ally of Pakistan and increasing their ties with Srilanka.

Don't blame India of creating instability and arms race.

What would you expect when you are being surrounded, taking moral high ground or preparing for the worst ?

P.S. Its not paranoia, don't quote this word, its a lame argument.

I hope they also include TOT and assistance in building of military equipment. With the chinese help pakistan was able to become self sufficient to a certain extent. If they help us in these fields, i think we will also become self sufficient.

LOL you are just paranoid. India is playing the same game by having close military relations with vietnam and one central asian country(forgot the name).

Anyway in asia, its very rare to have your immediate neighbour as your close military ally.

Well, it is your money :D

Don't blame India of creating instability and arms race.

Who said about arms race? :what:

What would you expect when you are being surrounded, taking moral high ground or preparing for the worst ?

Moral high ground? LOL...

P.S. Its not paranoia, don't quote this word, its a lame argument.

You are paranoid.

But it's okay, every country in this world has some boogeyman. But man, this is just too much!

Arms's race...check out the Chinese media's reaction on Agni V test and Pakistani media and experts on launch of our SSBN Arihant.

Of course its our money, but why do you oppose when we want to make state of the art border with Bangladesh. Don't come running to us when BSF shoots the intruders. We are already facing riots by these intruders. Its not paranoia, its the reality.

About Moral High Ground, what does Human rights record is brought in case of intruding Bangladeshis and Terrorists in Kashmir.

Why does everyone gets on their toes when India develops BMD and start creating hue and cry over destabilizing the region. Asking west and other powers to make India responsible nation even when we are being surrounded.

Why do you think China financed/built Pakistan's Gwadar and Srilankan's port? Why not in some other country? Isn't it a threat to us when there SSBNs and SSNs can dock at both nation's ports.

What about millions of illegal immigrants from your nation, should we do the same you want to do with Rohingyans?

Every country has boogeyman, why don't you tell your fellow posters when they openly attack Indians without any reason.

Talking of boogeyman, BSF is yours, why, they are just doing their duty, no one asked BD people to come with women and children to illegally enter Indian territory. What about Indian women and children being killed and forced to live as refugees due to riots in Assam.

In our independence we have been tackling intruders from west and north, now its happening in eastern front too. Don't bring human rights when we start deporting illegal resident.

Talking of moral high grounds, why you keep silent when your people live in our country where as you force others not to come to your country as refugee. We don't turn our back on refugees, didn't do it in 71.

Sir, its about growing concern of what India's domestic security being put to test by these external forces.

If you call paranoia, let it be, we are sick of these problems caused by these immigrants and external forces, giving arms to internal extremists etc.

P.S. Why did you reduce Hindus population by almost 4 times less than they were few decades ago in your country. What was the basis, paranoia, Two Nation Theory or some twisted logic?

We aren't in an arms race. That's a fact.

Of course its our money, but why do you oppose when we want to make state of the art border with Bangladesh. Don't come running to us when BSF shoots the intruders. We are already facing riots by these intruders. Its not paranoia, its the reality.

Not our problem.

About Moral High Ground, what does Human rights record is brought in case of intruding Bangladeshis and Terrorists in Kashmir.

Again, not our problem.

Why does everyone gets on their toes when India develops BMD and start creating hue and cry over destabilizing the region. Asking west and other powers to make India responsible nation even when we are being surrounded.

India does.

Why do you think China financed/built Pakistan's Gwadar and Srilankan's port? Why not in some other country? Isn't it a threat to us when there SSBNs and SSNs can dock at both nation's ports.

India-China trade is worth billions.

What about millions of illegal immigrants from your nation, should we do the same you want to do with Rohingyans?

Again, how is that our problem? You gave the refugees free passports and the like. And now you are crying? I'd say, something was cooking

Every country has boogeyman, why don't you tell your fellow posters when they openly attack Indians without any reason.

That's because we are not stupid.

Talking of boogeyman, BSF is yours, why, they are just doing their duty, no one asked BD people to come with women and children to illegally enter Indian territory. What about Indian women and children being killed and forced to live as refugees due to riots in Assam.

Again, off topic. And your country's responsibility.

In our independence we have been tackling intruders from west and north, now its happening in eastern front too. Don't bring human rights when we start deporting illegal resident.

Bangladeshis have been deported from other countries before. Do you see us bringing human rights? What weird rational is this?

Talking of moral high grounds, why you keep silent when your people live in our country where as you force others not to come to your country as refugee. We don't turn our back on refugees, didn't do it in 71.

Is that our problem?

Sir, its about growing concern of what India's domestic security being put to test by these external forces.

If you call paranoia, let it be, we are sick of these problems caused by these immigrants and external forces, giving arms to internal extremists etc.

Bangladesh never supplied arms to anybody. Do you seriously think that it has the organization and the capability? lolz...

P.S. Why did you reduce Hindus population by almost 4 times less than they were few decades ago in your country. What was the basis, paranoia, Two Nation Theory or some twisted logic?

Hindu population is around the same right now. And why the changes? Well, that's because of differing birth rates and immigration also plays a role. Generally speaking, Bangladeshi Hindus are wealthier and more educated than the Muslims.

Bangladesh never really intended to create problems for India. What concerns us is India's role in the region. And so far, it doesn't have good relations with a single neighbor. Nepal and Bhutan are both vassal states.

If being a vassal state is India's idea of 'friendship', 'peace' and 'stability', then please think over it again. Otherwise, we, like many others will always remain on our toes. Nobody wants to be part of India's problems. And what's more, their politicians are corrupt, and the two things that glue the nation together are cricket and Bollywood.

And then, there's Myanmar - another thorn on our side.

So yes, we'd stick with our guns. So, do not be surprised if our cooperation with China and the US increases in the near future without India's 'approval'.

There's no such thing as a free lunch my friend.
