The Inter Service Public Relations Directorate said in a press release that they discussed issues of bilateral interest during the meeting on Monday.
In his five-day tour of the island nation, General Belal also met the Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar, and the chief of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Major General Ahmed Shyiam.
General Belal presented seven pick-up trucks to the MNDF as a gesture of friendship.
The press release also mentioned that Bangladesh had extended support to the Maldives under “Operation SAARC BANDHAN” after the island nation was hit by a devastating tsunami in 2004.
The Bangladesh Army had presented seven three-ton trucks to the MNDF in 2011 as a mark of the “deep rooted relations” between the two armed forces.
General Belal left for the Maldives on January 15 and is expected to return home on Tuesday.
