Bangladesh air force received 9 K-8w aircraft

Alhamdulillah All of our JL/K-8(we have 9) Primary Jet Trainer Safely Landed on Shah Amanat International Airport(BAF Base Zahurul Haque ) today.

But there are nearly as many jet trainers as there are fighters in the BAF inventory! Why does Bangladesh have so many Trainers? And why does Bangladesh need so many Trainers? o_O

2. no, those are early 90s L-39

Early 90s is fairly new in Trainer Aircraft terms man! Why are they retiring them? Unless it's got something to do with lack of spares and servicing, L-39s still may have at least a decade or more worth of TTL in them.

early 90s means their life already passed 20 years, beside bd is going to induct new fighter aircrafts soon, for that need new training aircraft

I'm sure an overwhelming majority of Bangladesh's Aircraft are of comparable age. Merely wondering why the L-39 was singled out for what's still a relatively early retirement for trainer aircraft.

India earlier used to have Polish Iskra trainers. They had an excellent and effective run as trainers in IAF, but they had to be phased out early due to lack of spares. India still has Kiran aircraft, which are of comparable vintage as the Iskra, as trainers to this day. Wonder if maintenance costs are the reason behind L-39's case as well.
