For retention and representation of the glorious history, success and gradual development of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to the new generation, the BAF Museum was inaugurated on Sunday at the western side of Tejgaon runway adjacent to Agargaon in Dhaka.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari inaugurated the museum as the chief guest. Senior BAF officers of Dhaka area, airmen and other members were present on the occasion.
The museum is located at the eastern side of computer city (IDB Bhaban) and western side of the Tejgaon runway. Glider F-86, FT-5, MI-8 helicopter and AN-24 transport aircraft of BAF including 'Otter' aircraft used in our Liberation War are kept in the museum, an ISPR press release said in Dhaka.
Besides, various display galleries pertaining to BAF, one children park and a food court for visitors are under construction.
The museum will remain open for all public viewers from 29 September and onward, the timing will be Monday to Thursday (1400-2000 hours), Friday and Saturday (1000-2000 hours) and it will remain closed on Sunday for maintenance purpose.
