Bangabanhu's Election Address 1970

.
it's sad that the East Bengal/East Pakistan region could not produce a better popular leader than Sheikh Mujib, who was supposed to become PM of entire United Pakistan. if it did happen, i think that would have been bad for United Pakistan. by becoming first President of only post-1971 East Bengal, it set a bad precedent that politicians up to this day would come from thug backgrounds and politics would be a domain of thugs. Sheikh Mujib might have been better than a lot of other people during 1960s, but he was still from a thug background and he did not deserve to end up being the most popular Pakistani leader. the fact that a thug like him rose so high was probably because of the overall backwardness of the people of the East Bengal/EP region. and the prominence of the thug-ish climate ensured this people called Bangladeshis would remain a backward and subjugated people to this day.
