U suggest a quick fix, it wont work. From bhutto era till Musharraf, these quick fixes have not worked. The only solution is a total change of status quo, removing power from these so called protectors.

I fear IK is a dumba** who wont end the hold of establishment in Pakistani politics but will instead use it to his own benefit for petty politics

This should be a wake-up call. Extensions are extremely dangerous. When COAS spend more in office ( 3+3 = 6 years) in office then PM (usually 2.5-4 years). It's obvious that COAS will have political thoughts and connections. Instead modify rule which only allow 6 month extension (once) to COAS Incase situations are really that bad. So no COAS spend more then 3.5 years in office and majority leave it on completion of 3 years.
