Bajaj to build a plant in Bangladesh

.
Every Saturday 9 am sharp at the Bajaj plant in Bangladesh, all workers are forced to sing the Indian national anthem, led by a saffron dhoti clad senior executive of the RAW. Workers who refuse to sing the sacred Indian anthem are given a plate of rosogullas, then fired.
:lol::lol::lol:

.
Some 20-25 components including chassis, chain, swing arm, suspension, battery, tyre and plastic accessories will be manufactured at the plant, sufficient to give the motorcycles the 'manufactured in Bangladesh' tag.
The other components such as engine will be brought over from India, he said.
As per custom rules, an assembler will be termed a manufacturer if its value addition is at least 30 percent and if it can locally produce at least seven components: frame, main stand, side stand, real swing arm, handle bar, tension rod and engine clamp.
A manufacturing unit should also have to have power coating plant and other facilities for injection moulding, dye casting, salt spray testing, pipe bending, and hydraulic press, according to a notice from the National Board of Revenue.

So the technically advanced parts will still be imported from India?

That'd be an affirmative. But I don't know if you could call engines 'technically advanced'. It's just more value addition. Value addition is kept at a low 30% level for Motor-Bike manufacture to qualify for 'Made in Bangladesh' label (reason is to attract high levels of Foreign Direct Investment - FDI) however I see this being tightened and requirements will be made over 50~60% very soon to cater to demands by local manufacturers like 'Runner', 'Walton' and ATLAS ENGG. - HONDA Bangladesh (which has been here for the last 40 years making bikes) as well as numerous China CKD parts assemblers - 'LIFAN' being one of the largest but including SINGER, DAYANG, KTM as well as scores of others.

Although Indian bikes made from CKD (Component Knock Down) kits do get 'Made in Bangladesh' label and low VAT and tax breaks because of it for now - I see HERO and BAJAJ themselves to very soon increase local content and value addition (and go into engine manufacture) because that'll make their prices drop even further to compete locally and in export markets like various parts of Africa and South America. Bangladesh wages and labor costs are one-third that of even Indian wages and if HERO and BAJAJ are smart they will take advantage of it.

Engine manufacture in Bangladesh is conducted by several local manufacturers at this time. One local brand 'Walton' already makes engines from scratch (Forged, Die cast and stamped engine casings, shot blasting, precision cylinder machining etc.). I'd venture to say local product lines offer their equivalent products a lot cheaper than Indian products for this reason and have started exporting to Africa and Middle East already.

are behes kaha hai ye to serf reality dikha raha hu

the indians will need this. amid their kanjusi, at least they should gift them to the BAL people who allow Indian companies to operate in a way even local companies don't get to

Not bad,but where does the engine technology come from?

.
Good, increasing competition will force local manufacturers to upgrade their tech. BD consumers would also get value for money

.
Nobody will buy this cheap Indian Junk because Bangladeshi usually (as being told several hundred times before on PDF) buy Chinese ,Japanese or European bikes only.

Not good for BD. But then again we have a boot-licking illegitimate charal regime in power sucking the country dry. Local companies need to get priorities and just when Walton and runner were doing well this disaster has to happen? Local industries need time to develop and u need to give time for automotive parts industry to also to develop. Bajaj will import most stuffs from India and won't benefit local industries. Japan didn't open up their auto market till the 80s and even now foreign auto-makers complain abt hidden barriers in competing with Huyndai in the korean market. Those countries gave decades for their local industries to develop while we have a regime that is bending over backwards to destroy our industry.

No, you are wrong. People on the street want to buy a good product. Recently, young people are buying Indian motor cycles whatever the PDF Jamaatis tell you. Chnese bikes are not selling well here.

People will certainly love to buy made-in-Japan bikes. But, it is almost unavailable because it is too expensive. BD may not have any European made imported motor bikes to my knowledge.
