Bail for Oli; 30 injured as BCL men attack LDP chief & his supporters
Witnesses said scored of stick and chapatti-wielding activists of BCL and Jubo League, backed by ruling Awami League swooped on Oli and his supporters when they arrived in court at 11 am.

Chittagong, Nov 24 (UNB) - A court on Thursday granted bail to LDP chief Col (retd) Oli Ahmed in a defamation case filed by a local Awami League leader against him on Nov 14 for making rant against a woman MP.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman passed the order after Oli Ahmed`s lawyer signed a bond of Tk 20,000 in presence of the accused in a packed court room.
The magistrate also fixed Nov 27 for the next hearing.
Court sources said Oli Ahmed came under attack by BCL and Jubo League activists as he arrived in the court along with his lawyers and a large number of supporters at 11 am.
Earlier, the motorcade carrying Oli Ahmed and his supporters also came under attack on its way to court in different areas of the city.
Witnesses said scored of stick and chapatti-wielding activists of BCL and Jubo League, backed by ruling Awami League swooped on Oli and his supporters when they arrived in court at 11 am.
The unruly BCL and Jubo League activists mercilessly beat the lawyers of Oli Ahmed and LDP supporters leaving 30 injured.
Witnesses said the journalists also came under BCL attack as they attempted to take photograph of BCL atrocities in court premises.
Several reporters and photo journalists of local media were injured.
The injured received treatment at different city hospitals and clinics.
At least 12 cars and jeep of Oli`s motorcade were damaged by the attackers.
