Turkey proposes join production of the helicopters
Stating that some parts could be manufactured in Azerbaijan making it cheaper to buy for Azerbaijan
Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Azerbaijani military units are interested in Turkey-made T-129 attack helicopter, producer of the helicopter Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) told APA.

Company representatives said that Azerbaijani military delegation watched flight debut of the helicopter that has advantages in maneuverability, avionics and weapons loads compared to its analogues, within IDEF-2013 international defense exhibition in Istanbul on May 7.


The presentation on the attack helicopter was held for the delegations led by Chief of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic, Colonel General Elchin Guliyev and Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev at TAI stand on the first day of the exhibition.

TAI officials said they had made some proposals at the meeting with the Azerbaijani delegation. Azerbaijan was also offered to directly participate in the production of the helicopters. According to the company representatives, Azerbaijan can purchase these helicopters more cheaply, by participating in the production. A number of parts of the helicopters may be manufactured at Azerbaijani facilities

In IDEF 2013, Azerbaijan signed agreement for Arma and Cobra wheeled armoured vehicles and MPT rifles as well. Any details will be appreciated.
