In the second year of Hindustani music (the Visharad syllabus), we were taught the Vande Mataram in Raag Desh with only the tabla (in ektaal) for accompaniment. When I heard the full version for the first time, my first thought was that " Oh my God! we were murdering it every morning in school!!" Jokes apart, but that was the moment I fell in love with this song. I could only find one version on the net. It is a bit stark with no instruments but it's the only version in Desh I could find.
