What's new

Ay Arz-e-Falastin; Me hazir hon

He should have refrained from stating it all together. Even if it was not anti-Semite it was still a conspiracy theory. With that peacocking body language. He was not discussing this at his corner smoke shop. He was calling out the media while being interviewed by them and had no prepared answers. The answers which have already been presented thousands of times. This man is championing Pakistan for Palestine? Incompetent idiots sabotaging the cause and making all of Pakistan look idiotic.
All he had to do was put down the stats, the numbers would have carried him with ease, but he had to fall for her bait. Wasted too much time on giving clarification for a single word "deep pockets", on top of that handing her a headline to rant/post.

imo, Asad Umer would have handed this better, but some times he falls for stupid shiat too. I really don't know who could become a better FM, like seriously, we really lack some quick witted, logical persons on high posts.

And then retracted it by saying that "it was the perception". Mr. Foreign Minister, are you using hearsay on an international news channel? On an issue already clogged by media bias? Good job, bud.

I'm pretty sure there is no dearth of statesmen in the 220 million. You don't need the FM to be the spokesperson of the effort, though it would be nice to have one who can speak and think more coherently. Our ambassador to the UN, a qualified university professor on Middle Eastern History/Affairs, someone experienced from the foreign services would all have been better choices. But Quraishi Sahab and PTI want to be seen as the great Mujahids. The morons can't see past their own noses.

This is not Pakistani domestic politics where you can show up stumbling, wing it pompously, make a joke out of yourself, and still not have to answer for it.

Sure, but out of 220 million not every one is elected, so we are limited to what we have already elected. Another option could be appointment and then wasting a Senate seat and getting the person elected through senate and I don't think any one in the government is willing to waste time and resources just for Foreign Minister. Let's be straight forward, for a country like Pakistan FM barely does something worthwhile, if Americans want to contact Pakistan they skip any protocol and directly contact COAS. If some thing happens with Saudi's COAS and DG ISI go for a visit. And, I don't think SMQ asked to be FM he probably would have been happy with any main federal ministry. It's federal ministry is what people are after.

You missed the entire point. You don't need elected officials. As I said, the FM does not need to be the spokesperson. He does not need to be the spokesperson of any diplomatic effort either. Plenty of better qualified people he could've appointed.

True but the weight and how the international media values it also matters. It's not the same, when a spokesperson says something and a foreign minister says something. Like, I personally never paid any attention to what was being said by Dr. Muhammad Faisal in his tenure. Apart from something related to India, nothing really stood out or felt newsworthy. And even if you look from the perspective of news organization, who you would value more, getting your hands on a spokesperson of some FO or getting the chance to interview an FM. In an alternative world, if we sent some spokesperson of FO and not the actual FM, I can bet that CNN wouldn't even bother to invite him for the interview.

How? She kept cornering him through typical fallicious arguments and all he had in answer was repeated empty rhetoric and obvious attempts at side stepping the questions. She kept grinding him on supposed "anti-semitism" and he's the one who handed her the "the media is controlled by them". He takes 5 minutes to formulate a simple sentence. Who selects these blithering idiots to represent the country?
I had similar opinion when I watched first time.

After watching a couple of times, she was acting like a childish b, while SMQ handling her like a grown up. That's the reaction world will have. She even called him ambassador where she got strongly corrected in a protesting tone without any offense.

Actually that's what the job of the FM is.

FM is supposed to be not a debate person. For that we have ambassadors and he specifically pointed this out to the CNN opinion maker.
