What's new

Australia spent billions on jet fighters off the plan. Now, we’re having trouble even flying them

But then if you are talking about F-35 safety record, which was not mentioned in this article at all by the way, then why I can't talk about Chinese Aircraft safety record for comparison? Why I need to open another thread for it?

Again, you said I can't talk about stuff that are not related to this article, and F-35 safety record itself is not related to this article, so hypocrite much??
Maintenance is part of making the plane safe, and it's about F 35, and I m not a mod, I just suggested you to stick on the topic, I have no power to force you to do so, you can refer to mod. you can talk about China's safety record, or India's or any countries, but talking about them won't erase the fact F35 crashed twice in a couple of month.

Then tell me which aircraft in Chinese arsenal can out do F-35 in terms of safety? With 13 years and 800 unit build?

I m here talking about F 35, It may be a good plane, could be the best so far, it crashed twice in a couple of months.

What does that mean actually? crashed twice in 2 months. when both time are pilot error

. . .
both pilot survived, and both incident were investigated and was ruled pilot error....
One didn't in another crash. F 35 did't just crash twice.

both pilot survived, and both incident were investigated and was ruled pilot error....
You know how people trust those "investigations", don't you? Big money contracts on the stake.

One didn't in another crash
none of the 2 crashes pilot were dead, only 1 pilot killed in 2019, the JASDF pilot on a training mission, he lost his orientation and the aircraft was recovered, the crash was pilot spatial disorientation

People like you and me could never find out, of course they will blame pilots, billions of dollars defence contracts are on the stake, we can only judge from how frequently they crash to get a sense to do some guessing.

You do know both carrier incident have "live" video

In the British Crash, you can clearly see the lid from the turbofan was not removed before flight and the aircraft never left the deck before it crashed into the ocean.

In the USS Carl Vision Crash, you can see the plane tail strike on a low angle and hit the deck and bounce off, I don't know about you, but I would say it is pretty clear both case were human error to me.

If a car hit another car, even with a live footage, can you really tell what really happened with them? but we don't have to argue about it, it won't produce any result, the OP's point stands, a very expensive jet which is hard to maintain should not be everyone's choice. Once you crashed it, a lot of money goes down the drain.

Dude, that is a given by the price tag, or do you think the US will give people those jet for free?

Those jet have edge, that's why they are expensive. And the fact to the matter was, Australia have been trying EU stuff for a while and were let down every time (The Taipan and The Tiger) that's why Australia going back to US stuff, which is tried and tested. And as long as they can afford it, who else is to say otherwise?

I mean, I don't see you tax dollar paying for it, but I do.

Good luck, don't crash them like Americans, Japanese and Brits.

Again, name me one aircraft in the history had never crashed?

Crashing is part of the drill, and you have to be naïve to think any one country can make an aircraft that never crashed

I wish you won't, but if you think it's ok, it's fine with me too.
