As soon as they lift restrictions and open schools the second wave would likely hit and they will see many new cases..The virus will make its way back from inside or from outside..
flattening the curve doesnt mean 'eradicating' it like suggested in title.It means it will soon be an endemic.
S.Korea is getting new cases and moving in that direction.
There is good likelihood that the virus will be eradicated locally in Australia with current strict self quarantine and social distancing protocols. Only 22 new cases yesterday across the entire nation.
We could achieve the same thing over the next 4-6 weeks. Hopefully the borders between us (NZ and Aus) could be opened at that point.
So are we, I suspect our governments were acting on the same information and acted at the same time.We are just lucky we didn't listen to the CCP Wuhan Health Organization and closed our borders early.
