He said that course of legal action will be decided after evaluating the situation fully.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa said on Sunday, while talking exclusively to Dunya News’s show Kyun hosted by Arshad Sharif, that they welcome government’s commission to probe attack on prominent journalist Hamid Mir.
Bajwa reiterated that baseless allegations against government institutions will not be taken lightly adding that the existing military leadership has full realization of current situation.
He said that Hamid Mir was attacked by miscreants who don’t want peace to prevail in the country. He also said that pointing fingers at military organization caused defamation.
Bajwa said that ISPR is a dignified institution adding that legal action over allegation will be taken after evaluating the situation fully.
Earlier, Pakistan armed forces’ spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa condemned the attack on senior anchorperson Hamid Mir, adding that allegations against Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) are misleading.
The spokesman prayed for his well being and quick recovery. He said that an independent inquiry must immediately be carried out to ascertain facts. However raising allegations against ISI or head of ISI without any basis is highly regrettable and misleading, he added.
Prominent journalist, anchorperson Hamid Mir survived being shot at thrice on his way to office from airport.
Reportedly, Hamid Mir’s driver heroically sped the vehicle out of the shooting scene.
Mir was shot at thrice by unknown gunmen on his way to office from the airport. Police reached the site and started the search operation after cordoning off the area.
President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former president Asif Ali Zardari, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and PTI Chairman Imran Khan had strongly condemned the attack.
Hamid Mir is a senior journalist who hosts a popular talk show on a private news network.

So now the Army wants to take matters to the courts, the same ones who are being blocked over missing persons and the ex-dictator by the Army themselves?

Rather rich!

:D

That's the most moronic comment I read in a while. Are you suffering from bipolar disorder? In other threads you say military doesn't follow rule of land and in here you are mocking at their decision to go to court?

. . .
Hit you head somewhere recently ??

The point is that the Army cannot pick and choose where it wants the courts to help it out. It must follow a legal course of action in ALL matters without distinction. Otherwise, the blatant hypocrisy drowns out everything else.

Again I would say Hit Your head somewhere recently ?? you are making no sense at all .

Please give me one example where army choose to defy the orders of Court ..

. .
The Missing Person's Case, for starters.
when did Army said we do not consider Courts Authority ? last i remember they give their statement .. did they not ?

How many times were they ordered to produce those being held illegally? How many were eventually produced? Who are the responsible Officers?

The Army has played an obstructionist role all the way, and it still is, to hide its illegal detentions and murders.

Your stance is negated by clear evidence.

Back to the OP, the Army cannot pick and choose when to follow the law. It must follow the law, all the time, in all the cases, not just where it feels like it.

You Got Proof they are holding them ? as i said they gave their official response to the court . so your rant that they choose when to follow law is quite baseless .

and one more thing , Army cannot be prosecuted in any civil court .. go read about it & Stop embarrassing yourself ..

. .
That is INCORRECT.

Please read the law. Any Army Officer can be prosecuted regardless of the Army Act, which does not prevent trials in the regular courts.
You forgot to put Retired there .
