A Pakistan-based technology firm TPS has developed an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service for assisting the visually-impaired, telecom and IT news website ProPakistani reported on Tuesday.
The leader in e-banking in Pakistan, TPS has come up with VIP CASH feature to enable banks in assisting the visually-impaired during an ATM service.
The ATM machines with VIP CASH service feature an audio port where the user inserts an audio plug to listen to the voiceover for every action during a balance transaction or enquiry.
To keep the system uncomplicated, the VIP CASH service is limited for cash withdrawal or balance inquiry.
The service has been installed in the branches of Standard Chartered Bank and is reported to be running smoothly.
More banks are expected to follow the suit soon, add the news report.
