ALI AKBAR — UPDATED 4 MINUTES AGO
PESHAWAR: A powerful bomb ripped through a bus carrying government employees in Peshawar on Wednesday, killing fifteen people and causing injuries to 25.
  • According to DawnNews, the blast targeted a Civil Secretariat bus bringing employees from Mardan to Peshawar.

The explosion took place near Peshawar's Sunehri Masjid.

Fear and panic spread among residents in the wake of the explosion. The area has been cordoned off and injured are being shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

SP Cantt. Muhammad Kashif said the blast was caused by explosive material planted inside the bus and usually a secretariat bus is not checked from inside.

"15 people were killed and 25 others were severely injured," added the police officer.

Peshawar has seen scores of attacks on civilians as well as law enforcement personnel in the past. The city is also the home to the XI Corps, an administrative corp of the Pakistan Army which manages all military activity in KP and is currently engaged in a full-blown operation in North Waziristan.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

Until we go after the leadership who are hiding in Afghanistan it's impossible to stop TTP attacks. We have to go after TTP leaders who are hiding in Afghanistan.

unfortunately the govt cannot play ball ....we have been finding different reasons not to act against outlaws both on our own soil and foreign soil, in addition lack of improvement in police, FIA and LACK OF ANY REFORMS IN FATA are other reasons which i think is complete deliberate laziness on part of the fedral government

Kill the leadership.... may require extra ordinary effort....
but extra ordinary circumstances require extra ordinary effort

Its high time we bombed Afghanistan, especially all Indian origin objects there, especially their embassies and other infrastructure. India is the root cause of all terrorism in South Asia.

Or get ready for war
war from whom?

We are not going to bomb anybody. We are after all a bunch of losers and the Atami quoot is for threatening India only. I wonder if that is real as well.
What are you going to bomb, their is nothing to bomb. They are in very few numbers and hiding in remote areas.
Either they are taken out from afghan side or Pakistan start another operation like zarb-e-azab in afghanistan and clear area which i dont think pakistan have enough resources

RIP. Seems like they are out of Suicide bombers /

Correct. At least we can bomb the border area with full force. Who is guarding Afghan border? If India try to take advantage on other side border. Go Nuclear then.

Or it is by some agency. They usually use this tactics and avoid suicide bombers so that none of its personel are not killed.

Border areas? Whats there. Nothing, and even if there are, they will move back. Main points are the 22 plus embassies and consulates India operates inside Afghanistan. These are the supply lines for terrorists.

Going inside Afghanistan will be a big suicide. US/NATO couldn't anything for last 16 years. We have to safeguard our border and keep an eye on every movement on the border or just close the border for everything even goods truck.

Why the attacks takje place in Peshawar repeatedly? If one city is very vulnerable to attack than security should be beefed up.
