ATC orders to seize Imran, Tahir-ul-Qadri’s properties

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad has issued order to confiscate properties of PTI Chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.

The court had declared Imran and Qadri as absconders in a case relating to the attack on SSP Asmatullah Junejo, destroying properties in the Red Zone and attacking State TV building during dharna in 2014. The court had also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for both Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri.

The ATC issued notices to police and the Revenue Department to seize properties of the two “absconders”.

As per the anti-terrorism provisions, a case was registered against Imran and Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, who were leading the protest movement against the Sharif-led government.

The provision of anti-terrorism due on which the case was registered were assault on a uniformed officer and interference in the government's operations.

The dharna protests featured many clashes as PTI and PAT loyalists staged a sit-in protest outside the parliament against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for allegedly rigging the 2013 general elections.

PTI had called off its protest after the Army Public School Massacre on 16 December, 2016 as a mark of respect for the children slain and for solidarity with the government in a time of crisis.

I don't know what's going on in our country. May Allah save us from this corrupt system. Where was ATC before? Why this corrupt system just chose to go after effects and ignore the causes? Is it justice? For me, it is just to suppress the voices rising against corrupt system? However, for me, who is responsible for all this is the people, who choose this system and politicians who don't even think them human.

Hmm! I think if someone ask my opinion - I would not agree. No, against any odds, it's not whom you're calling wardi walay. In my view it's Govt trying to provoke public. If public turns violent, it will give them opportunity to divert attention of public from Panama Case and divide public. In any situation of such chaos, army will have no choice but to step in and I think that what Govt desperately looking for right now. They want what others call "Siyasi Shahadat". Thanks God, our army tackling the situation most respectfully and not overtaking civilian issues on themselves.

But Sir, the question is why now? Why didn't it happen before? To me it just seems like lighting the fire - provoking public and setting up the precedence for future. If it happens in real, it will simply bring severe protest and extreme law and order situation.

Oh stop it, a coup at this time would be a God send for NS, tha would give him political martyrdom and credibility to run in the next elections. The army is doing well by remaining apolitical at the given time.
