Assassination Attempt on Imran Khan: One Killed, Multiple Injuried Including Imran Khan - 11/22

Civilians like who Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, Bilawal, Shabaz, Maryam? This is the problem, We dont produce quality leadership in Pakistan.

And in Pakistan the military is independent from the government, as is the judiciary. These 3 powerful institutions need to work with each other to make a powerful Pakistan.
milestab keeps stacking the deck against quality leadership. they dont spare their own like asghar khan. what was ns quality when zia promoted. what is mns quality when she ia given bail. or BB brought back.

This Faisal nasser scenario have put army in really difficult position

If he gets sacked then it proves army was involved in assassination attempt

If army try to save him then it will be a failure
They can't save him from public.

PTI needs to stick to this demand
Instead PTI should say Army should decide future of Major General Faisal naseer otherwise public will do itself

Be realistic, nothing will happen. The army won't bend to anyone's cute demands. Beggers can't be choosers, as one dumb a$$ said. You need to take it from them.

What international analysts are writing about the attempt on Imran Khan's life

The news of the assassination attempt didn't just shake Pakistan but made headlines across the globe.

The news of an assassination attempt on former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday didn't just shake Pakistan — it made headlines across the globe. A former star cricketer and prominent philanthropist, Imran has been in the international media's eye for decades. His tenure as a first-time premier as well as the dramatic end to it in April was also extensively covered.
The ensuing protests have received international coverage on and off, mostly when Imran amped up his confrontational narrative against the country's powerful establishment.

On Thursday afternoon, when a suspect standing in front of the container carrying the PTI chief and senior party leaders showered a volley of bullets, injuring Imran and other leaders and killing one worker, the party's ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ was yet again thrust into the global limelight.
Here, Dawn.com looks at the analysis that has been carried by some international publications in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Bloomberg: Imran Khan shooting raises stakes in showdown with Pakistan Army

"The shooting also complicates the calculus for the military establishment, which backed Khan’s rise to power in 2018 before a falling out last year. Any future attacks on Khan, or attempts to deny his participation in the next election, would put the spotlight on generals who prefer to stay in the background while wielding outsized influence over domestic and foreign policy. "

The Guardian: Imran Khan shooting another violent moment in Pakistan’s political history

"Though homicide statistics show a consistent decline, few are convinced that the violence that has marked politics and society in Pakistan for so long is falling. [...] Pakistan may well be one of the most dangerous nations in the world, but more for its own citizens than any foreign observer thousands of miles away."

Washington Post: Pakistan won’t quickly recover from Imran Khan’s shooting

"Clips of the would-be assassin claiming to have acted alone are all over Pakistani media. Yet it is hard to imagine that claim being widely believed in a country already consumed by conspiracy theories. Pakistanis will remember that nobody found out who killed Bhutto and be suspicious of any simple explanation, whether or not it is true. And they will find someone to blame: Already, pro-Khan protesters have vandalized symbols of the military’s power across the country."

Indian Express: Attack on Imran Khan: A turning point in November

"These and many other questions are being posed and examined by analysts of Pakistan affairs in the region and around the world. What a pity that at a time like this the Indian media does not have a single correspondent posted in the country to report directly. While print media offers at least occasionally a professional view of developments in Pakistan, the electronic media has turned Pakistan reporting and analysis into a soap opera, a circus and just propaganda."

Sky News: In Pakistan it seems there are only two ways prime ministers leave office - coups or assassinations

"But he is a national icon. A cricketer turned politician, loved as a hero who brought the World Cup home in 1992, revered as a politician who fights for justice and against corruption [...] Mr Khan's calls for power to the people and his shooting have led to yet more people taking to the streets with the same call. This time in anger."

Your Corp Commander has a really nice house. Just that Door is probably worth the annual salary of most of the Army chiefs around the developing world.
I dont think its just his house, its a whole fort .
Bala hisar fort, where head quarter of frontier Corps is present.
The commander probably lives in some corner of the fort , rest is used for other purposes , I guess .
PS: I suppose since the commander controls the Corp, he is right to live inside the fort to be honest .

There should some kind of power sharing agreement between the civilians and the Military. Like the foreign policy, international relations etc. The civilians have no idea about the threats but the agencies job is to find out the threats and deal with them. So some kind of give and take must be agreed upon.

The problem is the establishment uses agencies to manipulate and control the civilians, making Pakistan in to a client state for foreign masters, the agencies make videos, recordings of the private lives and then make threats to expose them if they don't listen.

Looking at the recent history, we had 400 drone strikes and our government always condemned it but did nothing about it. Why allow foreign nation to drone attacks your nation, if there are terrorists then deal with them yourself but its treacherous to allow a nation drone strike you whenever they feel like it, same with fake Osama encounter, the kidnapping of Pakistanis and using them as terrorists, using maddrasa to train jihadis and then using them or killing them afterwards. Playing games with people children's. We all now know it was okayed by our own powerful people. India always bashed Pakistan and the Military on international forums but Pakistan stayed quiet, IK came and gave befitting reply to India. Why couldn't the military do the same or the previous PMs.

They become lions in front of own population but sheep in front of international players. Lastly the business empire is also a big problem, I don't think anything is wrong with it because the civilians are corrupt but Military should not be using their power to manipulate and blackmail others، we all know what must happen if you cross an ex Military dude regarding plots and land purchase. From personal contacts, the people at the highest level of food chain are the ex Military guys, they're untouchable.
Bro as they say there are not going to be 2 Kings at one throne so its not a viable option. Europeans have sorted it out once for all and they have been through the same upheaval over the centuries. Its a Muslim nations issue from the day Hazrat Omer Farook was taken back from us by Allah and we as Muslims never recovered and went on a destructive path of absence of a succession process.
Army is a paid servant of this nation and they must stay in their boundaries for which they are hired, no buts and no if's, otherwise basically fu*k off and we can always hire someone else.
There are plenty of illiterate Pakistni's who never had the opportunity to attend the schools and there are plenty of our nationals who can't afford to feed themselves and go hungry at night. They don't deserve the army generals we have and politician's who is robbing them of their future and their kids path to have any success in life. If you have seen those brick making kilns and kids working there one can't stop shedding tears as they are the same kids of the our nation from which you and me belong. Our poor nationals deserve better instead of being treated like sheep and look down by these son of bit*h generals and politicians that they have no voice.
Time have come when we can pull our country out of the dark ages, dark laws and dark decision making drawing rooms. This mafia generals have made a mistake of firing the first shot at IK, let us make them to pay for it and make them to get out of the politics once for all otherwise our kids have to wait another 100 years for this day.

They never talk about him bringing in free cancer care in Pakistan and his philanthropy. Doesn't suit their narrative does it. Always quick to find an opportunity to demonise Pakistanis. IK should have been PM since the 90s.

Imran Khan will address the nation in 10 minutes. Thank god.

I'm about to cry through my frustration about the situation

.
establishment won't give in easy... they have too much to lose... 50% of the countrys resources goes to army, not to mention vast business interests some of which are DHA, fertilizer, collecting tolls, the army or ex General have their prints on every sector of Pakistan economy. Truly a state within a state that must be stopped
How short sighted of them, they can certainly earn a lot more if the country prospered.

They will never give up, otherwise they will be held accountable and will go to jail after their audit books are made public... They will take pakistan down but never give up power and money...

The elections must happen by or before August 2023 as specified by law. And I definitely do not support NS, nor have I said anything is his favor.
Sorry no one ask for your opinion ... It doesnt matter ...

U never spoke against the change in law of NAB legalizing and corruption and here lecturing us about election to hold after august ...

U can keep supporting agenda of crimnal enterprise but no one cares

No problem then. My opinion can be ignored easily.

(However, I do have the right to express it, just the same as others.)

Now let us hear what IK has to say. He is addressing his supporters soon, I understand.
