Assam's Bengali region demands economic autonomy

. . . . .
What is it with Bangladeshis and racism? You can't be a racist if you're bottom of the pile.

Nah, even the Bamar monkeys dare to be racist these days! :hitwall:

Let me assume your argument is Bengalis have been living there since the Triassic period.

Nope, Bamars were inhabiting the whole earth before illegal humans occupied their land! :coffee:

. .
Sylhet is like Bengal, Western sylhet got split from Eastern Sylhet, it's less about Bengalis and more about the Sylhetis who live there, Sylhetis are quite different to the average Bengali, and our city tends to be richer due to remitances. Sylhet city is bound to become an Economic hub and when it does, watch indians migrate to sylhet for a better life. It is said that sylhet banks hold somewhere between 4000-8000 crore from Remitances of the bomming restaurant business in other countries. The region should of just been kept as sylhet and either joined Bangladesh as a whole or stayed with India, it's sad to see my sylheti brothers struggling for economic freedom, Sylhetis proably the most hardworking too. We know the Sylhet City and it's region has the capability to become a regional power and agreat city, we just need to put the right things into place. Oh and it's no different across this side of the border too, we Sylheti Bangladeshis for years now have been trying to set up a SEZ in our area, we keep fighting, and if it happens, the area will blossom.

To all my Bangladeshi friends, what does 'Purbachal' mean?

Sylhet was always part of Bengal. When you guys want to show a different identity in BD. See what the Eastern sylhetis demand.
They think themselves of Bengali. There are some prominent Bengali poets from other parts of Sylhet who later migrated to BD.
Dont fall for Indian propaganda. Why Bangladeshis will migrate to NE states.

Try to invest in other EPZs. Sylhet is not so poor and populated. Wont get cheap labour and the transportation cost is high.
That is my opinion lets see for future of Sylhet.

Purbachal movement is something for autonomous power of Barak valley people. An interesting read
The Telegraph - Calcutta (Kolkata) | Northeast | Union Territory status sought for Barak

Support Purbachal for separate state

Ah OK, thanks for that, I wanted to know if the word Purbachal itself meant anything, cause I've heard that they're making a new town beside Dhaka which is called Purbachal new town.
