Europeans live in cold climate where they HAVE to eat flesh of animals during winter since nothing else grows in the snow. The body metabolism also is faster in colder climate than in hot temperate zones, which means those in the north have to eat more or eat more nutritious food.

They do it out of necessity, you do it out of greed (and spite) like those "kids". So the difference is pretty stark.
