Taiwan expertise is required to fight this expertise.

Lol... Typical western journalist. It is Taiwan disregard the health of Taiwanese by refusing to one China policy. PRC never block Taiwan to participate WHO as long as under one China policy. But Taiwan politician believe their politics are above the life of Taiwanese.

Taiwanese expertise is already being used around the world in the fight against Covid-19. WHO participation would have made it easier.

Taiwan just raised it's profile higher over Covid-19 while China's is shattered with the whole world forcing China to submit to international investigation.

Yes China beat it by strict lockdowns. Congrats to China in that but it was hardly difficult to figure that out.

However Taiwan has shown how to do it without lockdown and it is an Island of 25 million people, with cities like Taipei and plenty of towns and villages which replicate most other countries.

Taiwan is a good model to learn from.

Yep those countries had previous experience from other corona viruses like SARS, MERS etc and had pre-existing plans in place which they actioned superbly.
