ANKARA — Turkish military electronics specialist Aselsan has won a $153.9 million contract from the Turkish government, the company said Dec. 31.
In a written statement Aselsan said that the contract involves building integrated communications and information systems for the Turkish Gendarmerie Force.
Aselsan, Turkey's biggest defense company, said it will complete deliveries of the system between 2015 and 2018.
The program is dubbed JEMUS, a Turkish acronym for the integrated system.
Last May, Aselsan signed separate framework agreements with two of Europe's biggest aviation concerns, Airbus and Rolls Royce.
The deal with Airbus concerns cooperation on civil and military avionic systems, satellite communication systems, electro-optic and laser systems, and secure radio communications.
The deal with Rolls Royce aims at exploring opportunities in engine control systems.
More recently, Aselsan inaugurated a joint venture plant in Jordan specializing in nigh vision systems.
