Pakistan Navy ships arrive at Bandar Abbas:-
In line with great maritime traditions and to further strengthen the existing warm and cordial relations, a Pakistan Navy Mission comprising Pakistan Navy Submarine Hurmat and three ships, namely the PNS Muhafiz, PNS Gwadar and PNS Jurrat, arrived in Bandar Abbas on Monday morning on a goodwill cruise to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Historically, the two countries have enjoyed cordial relations since Pakistans independence as Iran was the first Muslim country to recognize Pakistan. The two countries are founding members of ECO and the OIC and actively cooperate in international and regional forums. In continuation of the mutual cooperation, the IPI gas pipeline project will certainly have greater significance for Pakistan-Iran relations. Iran also supplies electricity to some border areas in Pakistan. The defense relations between the two countries are also improving. Pakistan has strong admiration and regard for the valiant Iranian people and for our naval comrades.
The visit of the Pakistan Navy ships to Bandar Abbas will provide their crews an opportunity to enrich themselves through the experiences of the Iranian Navy. Upon arrival, Pakistan Navy officials expressed hope that the people of Iran would experience peace and prosperity and that cooperation between the two navies would be expanded.
Captain Moaazam Ilyas, Naval and Air Attaché from the Embassy of Pakistan, Tehran, welcomed the ships on arrival at Bandar Abbas
